The Cry from the Mountain

Isaiah 40:9-10 Get yourself up on a high mountain, O Zion, bearer of good news, Lift up your voice mightily, O Jerusalem, bearer of good news; Lift it up, do not fear. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!” 10 Behold, the Lord God will come with might, With His arm ruling for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him And His recompense before Him.

We serve and follow and live for a very powerful God who hears and sees all we need and responds to those He calls.  But, remember how that great King came to live among us….as a baby.  We have almost forgotten the power and majesty by which Jesus defeated sin, death, and the grave.  We must remember that the Lord’s power is “off the charts” strong and that power has been given to us to enable us to live our life in the strength of His Spirit and His Word.  Isaiah 9:7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.

So we should not back down from anything that the devil sends our way, but we need to access this great power that Jesus gives to us through the Holy Spirit.  I believe there are a lot of “doubters” out there among believers.  They believe for salvation but doubt God being able to do anything more than that while we are here on earth.  The Lord’s prayer itself nullifies  the thought that we are powerless here on earth. Jesus himself said in Matthew 6:9 Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.  If Jesus has said we have the Holy Spirit that empowers us to live a life of victory and if Jesus in His own prayer said that the Lord’s kingdom will reign on earth as it does in heaven, shouldn’t we start believing that some of this, most of this, or all of this is true.  We shouldn’t just accept every little thing that is put upon us without accessing this great power to do something in the midst of our life situation.  Pray.  Have Faith.  Live out of that faith.  Experience God at a higher level.

And then what? Shout it from the mountain tops that Jesus is alive forevermore and living through his followers!!  It seems like we almost live sometimes like Jesus is dead, when we know deep in our hearts that He did defeat death.  A lukewarm person will be one that is trying to hold onto both realities.  Reality One – Jesus came to the earth and was resurrected but all power for living ended there.  Reality Two – Jesus came to the earth and was resurrected  and left us the Holy Spirit and we are living in that power that enables us to win victory after victory.  You are either one or the other, but you cannot be both.  Today is the day to choose.  Look at what John wrote in Revelation 3: 10-16 when addressing the churches of Philadelphia and Laodicea.  7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: 8 ‘I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.9 Behold, I will cause those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and make them know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11 I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name. 13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this: 15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot.16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.   I do not want to leave a bad taste in the mouth of my God!!   Do you?

So what do we do?  Shout it from the mountain tops.  JESUS IS ALIVE AND WE ARE VICTORIOUS AND SATAN IS DEFEATED!!  Live that victorious life and see how much it changes your perspective on living every day.  I believe the red hot life that is lived for God is a life that will find great purpose and meaning and great power.  Time to tap into the power source for life and His name is Jesus!!

The Pilgrimage continues…..
