Qualifications - The Witness

Galatians 3:26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Witness (def) - Evidence or proof. For those wanting to see Jesus, we are Living Proof. We are the evidence to be put before the jury of the world. We are on the witness stand and we will be questioned (1 Peter 3:15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.) to present what our faith is all about and why we believe in what we believe. The early disciples were dealing with Jews who did not believe Jesus is the Messiah and they were adamant in their beliefs and taught from birth to think a certain way. They were early Christian apologists and their understanding of God's Word to back up their claims had to be well thought out and well understood.

Their conviction as believers was not a bad thing, it was a joyful thing. To be convicted as a follower of Jesus Christ shows that the evidence is complete and lacking nothing. Of course, these people could not do this on their own. They needed, as we need, the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. In other words, when we testify about our faith, we are becoming the hands, feet, and voice of our Savior. We are most beautiful as believers when we move about witnessing for Jesus. Romans 10:15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

The Witness we have is important, but it is not perfect by any means. Only God is good and we are still sinners saved by grace sharing about a perfect love that is available for us to receive. As it has been said many times "We are one beggar showing another beggar where to find bread." The witness is not perfect, but available to offer testimony about what they know. If you have been born again, then you know Jesus and you can testify to His salvation. If we wait until we are perfect to share the gospel, then it will never be shared. When we share in our frailty the perfect truth that Jesus is the only way will come through and we will only be a conduit of the truth that is offered.
