When God releases His Flood on Sin

We all know the story of Moses leading God's people across the Red Sea. It is a Biblical truth and not just a story and it shows that God is ever-present to take care of you and me. To believe anything less is an open insult to the power of God. We must trust God and learn from the example of Moses and how God came to him to lead this great exodus. Moses needed to step up to lead God's people because he was who God wanted to lead them. Some have said, "God would have used someone else if Moses didn't do it." To which I say, HOGWASH. When God calls He doesn't call into some group and say "Ya'll shoot out there somewhere and hopefully it will all go well." God has very specific things He wants to happen and who He wants to do them. God doesn't need a Plan B because His Plan A is perfect.

One of the problems with the evil "woke" life is that it "dumbs down" the way God specifically calls each of us to do His will in a very focused way. If we want to qualify things a little then "Why call David to defeat Goliath? Because God made the stones and the sling that David used and God made David, and His plan was perfect, even though humanly speaking David was way undersized and his abilities were lacking. We need to quit trying to be God and trust God! That involves putting our "great knowledge" on the back burner and following God with the "greater faith." Jesus spoke of this "greater faith" in John 6 and when He began showing them who He was the disciples deserted Him, but the apostles remained, still asking many questions. When all others left the faith, His true followers showed they had the "greater faith." The greater faith is the faith to believe in what you can't see. The disciples had Jesus right there in the flesh and when He said something they couldn't understand they left him. The true believers kept believing no matter what and their faith was called the "greater faith."

In Matthew 8 we see a Roman Centurion exhibiting that kind of faith when He said this Matthew 8:The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. Jesus was amazed at His faith. Would Jesus be amazed at our faith? I hope so. Read Hebrews 11:1 where the writer says the following Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. For the born-again believer, we live in a "reality of faith" and in that reality, we cannot see who we follow and who we pray to, but our faith has become reality. We believe, study, and follow God's Word. That is what we believe by faith, and when that becomes our reality we are living in a "greater faith."

What is the result of this kind of belief system? The power of this faith applied to Abraham's life made him righteous before a holy God. His faith did that!! Moses' faith drove him to lead a group of Hebrews down to the bank of the Red Sea and then step into the water to cross! Exodus 14:15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! 16 Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground. 17 And I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they will charge in after the Israelites. My great glory will be displayed through Pharaoh and his troops, his chariots, and his charioteers. 18 When my glory is displayed through them, all Egypt will see my glory and know that I am the Lord!” Elijah prayed for rain to stop for years and then prayed and it rained again. Elijah showed great faith in the presence of a crooked King, Ahab, and His queen Jezebel.

Sadly we have a lot of Jezebel's trying to take over everything and the spirit of Jezebel is evil beyond our realization. That spirit is seen in men and women. Keep in mind that God answered the prayer of Elijah and his faith was seen in the results. 1 Kings 17: Now Elijah, who was from Tishbe in Gilead, told King Ahab, “As surely as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives—the God I serve—there will be no dew or rain during the next few years until I give the word! This was happening dependent on Elijah "giving the word." FAITH. How does all of this apply to our world today? In the case of Elijah scripture speaks to his faith in James 5:17 Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! 18 Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops. Jesus broke the prayer power down to one thing. Matthew 17:20 “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible. It is not the amount of faith but the purity of the amount we exhibit.

Our world has since seen our president shot at and even the world is saying "God protected Trump because of the prayers of faith." If our faith doesn't exceed the faith of those who don't know Christ, then we need to readjust and make some changes. Surely we haven't become so apathetic and unbelieving that we can't give God praise for the miraculous. Or maybe you don't believe in the miraculous power of God.

There was a boy who had an evil spirit in him and the apostles tried to get rid of the spirit, but they could not. Jesus enters the scene and here is what happens in Mark 9:20 So they brought the boy. But when the evil spirit saw Jesus, it threw the child into a violent convulsion, and he fell to the ground, writhing and foaming at the mouth. 21 “How long has this been happening?” Jesus asked the boy’s father. He replied, “Since he was a little boy. 22 The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” 23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

When Jesus shows up may our prayer be Jesus help me overcome my unbelief. The greatest power that has ever been seen is a miracle in itself. Jesus forgives my sin and I spend eternity in heaven and get this great salvation that is so underserved. God's grace is so complete and powerful that it washes over all my sins past, present, and future, and like the Red Sea obliterated the sinful army of Pharoah, it obliterated the penalty of sin and washes over me with forgiveness. Undeserved and unearned!! Generated by the love of God!! God's great and awesome grace released on the sin of my life giving me His forgiveness for my sins. Receive Him today and realize this great love that is impossible with men, but possible by Jesus.

Vesselogical Out,

David Warren
