Night Call

Acts 16: 6 Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. 7 Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there. 8 So instead, they went on through Mysia to the seaport of Troas. 9 That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” 10 So we decided to leave for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God was calling us to preach the Good News there. 11 We boarded a boat at Troas and sailed straight across to the island of Samothrace, and the next day we landed at Neapolis.12 From there we reached Philippi, a major city of that district of Macedonia and a Roman colony. And we stayed there several days.

Paul and his companions are not allowed by the Holy Spirit to go anywhere but west and they stop at Troas, a seaport. At night Paul sees a vision from a man in Macedonia, which is modern day Europe. The man is pleading with them to come to Macedonia and help them. So Paul's group decides to leave for Macedonia per the vision of the night before. This night call and the acceptance to follow that vision is vital to you and me because the Holy Spirit directed Paul to share the message with some who could possibly be our ancestors.

We never know where God will lead us and the effect us following His call will as we share the powerful gospel of Jesus Christ. If we share the message. It would be such a waste for Paul and his companions to go all that distance, have that powerfull message, and then not share it. The gospel continued to thrive because they did not hold it back and the power of the gospel continued to grow and grow as Paul continues on in his second missionary journey. In the above scripture the message they were sharing was called the Good News and it continues to be good news today and we must keep sharing it wherever we go. We don't need a Night Call to know that God has given us this vision when He comes into our lives and sets us on a course that is led by the Holy Spirit. For us it might be our neighbor, or work associate, or family member, or a member in our Sunday School class. As God allows SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY and see what God will do in your life to share this Good News.

Here is your Night Call. Be a part of the Lord's church by sharing the message or at least invite someone to your church so they may hear the gospel. Jesus said this in Luke 14:23 So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.
