Wanna Know a Secret?

You may not know this, but there are certain things you come to realize when your eyes are opened up to them. Jesus doesn't leave us guessing about much of anything, and the Bible is stocked full of wonderful truths to challenge us to live this abundant life. If you never study the Word, you will miss many things that are plain and common sense. I believe the Word of God. All of it!!! I try not just to pick the parts I agree with and like, but let all of the mysteries of God's Word come alive in my thinking. I am getting better and better at learning to cleave to this wonderful Word from God to His children. In this pilgrimage I have come to realize that there are no secrets left unrevealed and God is faithful to show me His ways, if I will just listen.

In Paul's letter to the church in Colossae, he felt a great responsibility to share the mysteries of God with this church that he didn't even visit on his travels. In Chapter 1 Paul reveals some secrets, and those secrets are so important!! Colossians 1: 25 God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you. 26 This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people.27 For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory. The message cannot be held at bay, and we should never deny its being shared in church meetings, home Bible Studies, or in one-on-one discipleship. The secret is out, and Paul wanted those Colossians to know that it was to take the message of hope to all who would listen, even though they had not met Paul.

The secrets are out, and Jesus has given it to all of us who hold His message of salvation in our hearts and minds, and Jesus compels us to take this message to a lost and dying world. No longer a secret, and no longer to lie dormant, but come alive in God's people. Shout it from the mountaintops, that salvation is for all. Perhaps it is time to replace gossip in the church with the message of hope, because it is not a secret to be kept to ourselves. Romans 10:For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

The Pilgrimage Continues,
