Just As If

Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Where does our peace come from? It comes from our faith in Jesus Christ. Peace is something that is hard to find at times because of the continued turmoil in our world. But our peace is not dependent on the circumstances around us, but on our faith in Jesus. HE IS OUR PEACE!! Jesus himself is our peace, and when we turn to Him for the forgiveness of our sins and we are born again we realize a peace that is beyond what we can totally understand. But it is there...

Of course, none of this peace comes from a new mindset or a new way of thinking. It is a gift that is given from God and not something we can contrive or work up ourselves. Ephesians 2:8-9 speaks to the source of our changed life as Paul writes 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. We cannot boast in our self in the area of our salvation and we cannot boast in our self in establishing peace. Our peace is found in Jesus Christ alone and in the salvation He gives to us. According to the above scripture we cannot "work up" our minds to acquire a lasting peace, but trust solely on the gift that God has given us. The peace we get from God is a peace that enables us to not be anxious about anything. ANYTHING? Yes, anything. The way we deal with fear and anxiety is with prayer and supplication as scripture states. And the way we can come to grips with that fact in scripture is the realization that we are "right" with God through our personal relationship with Jesus. The opening of the relationship with our Heavenly Father makes peace a very personal thing to us since it is a very personal thing to God, in that He gave Jesus to give us that peace.

The word "justified" actually does mean "just as if it had never happened" when it comes to the freedom we experience in our relationship with Jesus. Psalm 103:11-12 says 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. So we see that being justified has nothing to do with us, but everything to do with God and His great mercy!! As in everything God does, that mercy is perfect in every form and in every instance. SO ACCEPT IT AND LIVE IN IT!! Human thinking would cause us to think "how can it be?" and we miss the basic truth of the matter. GOD DID IT! Nuf said. If we would remove our human, worldly thinking from all of this formula we would move into a perfect, more peaceful, much stronger relationship that causes us to be much more dependent on God. Which in turn means more prayer, more service, more love, more fruit, and more of God and less of ourselves. John the Baptist said it this way in John 3:30 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

So we should live our lives Just As If it were Jesus living it? Now ya got it. So keep living and growing in it.
