Fix You

The Coldplay song "Fix You" has some very beautiful lyrics that cause me reflect on

the Lord's desire to Fix You. Here are some of the lyrics. Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones. And I will try to fix you. What happens when the light guiding you home is Jesus, the light of world? When that "fix" is in, you are truly fixed. When Jesus spoke the following words to the disciples in John 14, He spoke of the Holy Spirit that was coming to not only be there for those disciples, but soon would be "in" them. In the Holy Trinity we realize that there is God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Spirit (Holy Spirit). John 14:15 “If you love me, obey my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. Jesus was speaking to them in the present tense that the Holy Spirit was living with them, but a time coming, which is what we realize today, is that the Holy Spirit is IN us. The Day of Pentecost changed everything for each of us who are born again in the Spirit, in that Holy Spirit is in us when we are born again. Because of some extreme actions taken by some, it has caused many believers to distance themselves from this truth, but it is still a truth. The Holy Spirit lives in us, and Paul realized that we needed to be filled again with the Holy Spirit as our source of strength and power. Ephesians 5:18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Being filled with the Holy Spirit is not realized through some outward act, but a very inward filling that comes at the time of salvation. The Holy Spirit continues working a very real presence for all believers and His pure strength and power minister to us a "soul level."
Some of my dearest friends have gone through great loss of loved ones and if not for the Holy Spirit in their lives, they might not have made it. As in the lyrics of the Coldplay song, the Holy Spirit is the one who "fixes us" with an amazing amount of love and strength. The best thing we can do is access this amazing person of the trinity that Jesus has put in us to handle the pressures and hurts in life. The Holy Spirit takes the deepest hurts in our lives and replaces them with the greatest hope in a very mystical way. The light of Jesus causes us to realize the need to realise the presence of the Holy Spirit, and call on Him to minister and hold us when those tough times come. The ministry of the Holy Spirit to "fix us" comes from our Heavenly Father, who loves us so much and cares about each hurt and each pain. The Holy. Spirit is where the "rubber meets the road" in our real lives and He is a very present help in times of trouble. The Psalmist spoke to this in Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.
We serve a very present God who is ready to complete us in our times of need and give us the fix that only He can give through the Holy Spirit.
