Joshua 1:After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. 3 I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you— 4 from the Negev wilderness in the south to the Lebanon mountains in the north, from the Euphrates River in the east to the Mediterranean Sea in the west, including all the land of the Hittites.’ 5 No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.
How long can you put off the inevitable? Apparently, we can put it off for a long time because day after day we see time crumbling in our hands as we delay standing up for Jesus Christ in a lost and dying world. This generation must take the bull by the horns and direct a focused revival of souls and it must start with those who call the name of Jesus!! It is like someone is waiting for the wake-up call and yet our ears are not open to hearing the call. God is speaking through His Word, Jesus, and we need to respond as never before. It is time! The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus in Ephesians 5:16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. These days ARE evil and we have become immersed so much in that evil that it has caused our hearing to be deafened to the Clarion Call. This call is not the trumpet call of God for the coming of our Lord as written in (1 Thessalonians 4: 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves). But it is the call of the Lord as written in Luke 1:37 (NLT) For the word of God will never fail.” God’s word commands, commands us to follow the Great Commission and reach the world for Christ. This is an individual command to all believers and we have been equipped with the Holy Spirit to make this possible because all things are possible with God. This same verse as translated in the New American Standard says 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.” If I believe God’s Word to be true then I need to live my life with this great promise as my foundation. God set into motion the life of Joshua and blessed his steps when he accepted the leadership of the people of Israel. He gave Joshua this instruction over and over as he called him. Be strong and courageous was the instruction and Joshua takes his place of leadership and sets out trusting God and God alone. WOW!!
We read what takes place next in verse 10 10 Joshua then commanded the officers of Israel, 11 “Go through the camp and tell the people to get their provisions ready. In three days you will cross the Jordan River and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you.” God blesses “movement” and Joshua took God’s instructions literally and literally moved forward. HE moves FORWARD!! I don’t think many of us know what moving forward is so we don’t do it. It is just moving FORWARD!! Sometimes I get behind someone in the car ahead of me who is slow on the draw and I will say under my breath “just put your foot on that little pedal on the right and push! Then they finally move. I believe God is right “in front of us” saying “Just turn your feet toward me and take a step.” God had already given the land to the Israelites and they just needed to take that step and claim what was already theirs. What is our promised land? Wherever we take the message of the gospel. Listen to how Jesus called out the seventy in Luke 10: The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit. 2 These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. 3 Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. 4 Don’t take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet anyone on the road.
Jesus commands us to “step forward” and take back this territory that satan has controlled far too long. It is time to “move out” and face the powers of evil with the power of the Holy Spirit. Here is our armor.
The Belt of Truth.
A Breastplate of Righteousness.
On your feet, the Gospel.
God’s Salvation as your Helmet. “Accept God’s salvation as your helmet.” …
The Spirit as your Sword.
Time to move. Time to fight. Time to win again. Are you with us? Then come on~~
The Pilgrimage continues…..
