At the very core of our life, our God provides forgiveness and righteousness to our very needy souls. 1 John 1:9 says 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. My life is all about the many failures of my sinful condition, but God has made me righteous through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. This provision from God is too many times taken too lightly, but we must always realize the blessed provision of the forgiveness of our sins and the eternal reality of life in heaven with Him. BECAUSE OF HIS PROVISION!
But God takes it many steps further as He bestows on us the Abundant Life. So undeserved and yet so freely given to those who receive Jesus. John 10:10 says 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly. As you can see, the enemy doesn't want us to "realize" and live that abundant life. He wants us to live in a life of defeat, but God is faithful and provides that abundance for us, and continues to grow us closer to Him in that life journey. Paul wrote this to the church at Corinth and it is a sure promise of His great provision for each of us. 2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace overflow to you, so that, always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.
God as provider also gives us the power to live the life He has for us and Peter calls that living a Godly life. 2 Peter 1:3 for His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. Some of those who were born again have not entered into this life of hope because they have not realized the reality of it as found in the Word of God. In the Word of God, we find GOD! Then His presence, now realized draws us into a whole new way of thinking and living. We begin to experience the hope that only He can give and this sets us on a new pathway filled with provision for everything from our God, the great provider.
The renowned artist Paul Gustave Dore (1821-1883) lost his passport while traveling in Europe. When he came to a border crossing, he explained his predicament to one of the guards. Giving his name to the official, Dore hoped he would be recognized and allowed to pass. The guard, however, said that many people attempted to cross the border by claiming to be persons they were not.
Dore insisted that he was the man he claimed to be. "All right," said the official, "we'll give you a test, and if you pass it we'll allow you to go through." Handing him a pencil and a sheet of paper, he told the artist to sketch several peasants standing nearby. Dore did it so quickly and skillfully that the guard was convinced he was indeed who he claimed to be. His work confirmed his word!
We can trust that God is our provider in every area of our life. He made every part of us and He loves His creation. Psalm 139:14 I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. God knows us, knows our needs, and He will give us the desires of our hearts because God is our provider....our only provider.
