Fresh Spring Water - The Battle - Part 4 of 4

John 4:39 Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!”40 When they came out to see him, they begged him to stay in their village. So he stayed for two days,41 long enough for many more to hear his message and believe.42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world.”

The Samaritan Woman was made new and in that newness she became a follower of The Way, Jesus. But not just a follower, a co-laborer with all others who have committed their lives to Christ. Even you and me!! The same change that took place in her life that compelled her to tell her family, friends, and yes, even her village has taken place in our lives and we have been called to The Battle!!! The only other question is Will You Fight?" And yes, we know that it is God who fights our battles for us and without Him we cannot even begin to fight. But on the other hand, He is with us!! Isaiah 42:13 The Lord will march forth like a mighty hero; he will come out like a warrior, full of fury. He will shout his battle cry and crush all his enemies. Christian songwriter and worship leader Phil Wickham has penned a song entitled Battle Belongs and here is the chorus So when I fight I'll fight on my knees. With my hands lifted high O God the battle belongs to you. And every fear I lay at your feet I'll sing through the night. O God, the battle belongs to You. This is the God we serve. Our God fights our battles for us and we are hopeless without Him showing up and moving. We are taking a step right into the middle of a battle, but the victory has already been won by Jesus when He defeated death, hell, and the grave. We are living in the power of the Resurrection. The prophet Isaiah in chapter 49:25 But the Lord says, “The captives of warriors will be released, and the plunder of tyrants will be retrieved. For I will fight those who fight you, and I will save your children. A Promise is a promise and God is faithful!!

How are we to fight this ongoing battle?

Prayer - Ephesians 6:18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. We are to constantly be lifting each other up in prayer as co-laborers with Christ and even though we may be miles apart, God is everywhere and He is always watching and going before us.

Weapons - Ephesians 6:13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. We are to put on EVERY piece of armor. Do not leave one off and give the enemy a chance to get behind the lines of our life. By the way, all of these weapons are designed to meet the enemy "head on" so have them current and in good working order.

1 . The Belt of Truth(The Word of God) Standing on the Word of God and in His righteousness 2. Gospel of peace. Be prepared to give a reason for the hope you now have in Christ. 3. Shield of Faith -Hold up that shield of faith to handle the enemy's arrows. 4. The Helmet of Salvation and Sword of the Spirit - Guard your mind with the helmet of salvation and stand firm in the grace of God.

The Plan for Overcomers- Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. We have no hope without God and all hope with God because HE IS GOD!! God knows the plan because it is His Plan. We can never go wrong if we continue in God's plan, but we have strayed from God's plan and made up our own. Our plan, of course, is poor and uneventful with not many results. So we will use God's plan and it begins with Jesus and His ultimate sacrifice, and the message He put in our soul when we accepted Him by faith. Our lives are no longer our own, but now we are God's children. Blood-bought believers who have the Holy Spirit in their life. To restrain a sold-out believer from following God is a sin. But setting them in motion with the power of God going before them is to set into motion something that cannot be contained or understood. The plan includes God doing a fresh, new work through us because we are overcomers, as Jesus is an overcomer. John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Where Are You In this Process? God wants you in the mix and serving and he has just given me The Clarion Call (Clarion Call (def -a strong request for something to happen) - to battle and renewal. All of this is beyond me, but not beyond God working in me and you. Because of Covid-19 all communication possibilities were opened wide open with an opportunity to plan and convene as brothers and sisters in Christ (via Zoom) to do this thing. What is this thing? It is a call to "be the church" and use the technology God has given us for good and for change and get the call out to those who are committed to Christ. If you want to be on board please let me know and we will begin praying, mobilizing, and planning for the next step. I believe you are a part of a Smoldering Remnant of believers whom God has burned a deep desire to reach people as never before. We begin with turning up the Prayer Dial and here is what we must at least do in that area. God goes before us with power and strength. Joel 2:11 The Lord is at the head of the column. He leads them with a shout. This is his mighty army, and they follow his orders.The day of the Lord is an awesome, terrible thing.Who can possibly survive?

Pray with Purpose - A.W. Tozer said - “I want the presence of God Himself, or I don't want anything at all to do with religion... I want all that God has or I don't want any.” Strong comment and I echo that same cry from my heart. Pray for God to give us creative plans to mobilize this movement over many miles. I have many good, strong friends from States like Missouri, Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma, California, North Carolina, and Tennessee who are prayer warriors and you know who you are and that I am serious about this going forward. So believe it and get on your knees and I will too. A very familiar scripture says it all in 2 Chronicles 7:14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
