A Change of Heart

When someone has a definitive change in how they perceive something to the point of reversal it is called "a change of heart." Why? Because at our core there has been a shift that is life changing and totally different. The Bible calls this change "repentance" and in the spiritual realm it is radical change. Paul spoke about that change and what resulted from such a change in Romans 12: 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. A change of heart does produce a change in the way we think, and praise God He changes us at heart level before head level, but they are connected and the 12 inches between confirms that change is real and lasting.
You heart is changed and life looks totally different to you. NOW WHAT? We begin to crave the Word of God and when studying the perfect teachings of God's Word the Holy Spirit begins to create a "spark" of growth that intensifies as we study more and then you need to submit to the process of sanctification. This part of the Faith Walk has been ignored by many and if it is ignored minimizes what God is wanting to show you. Deeper things, like unfolding and learning the mysteries of God. You say, really, the mysteries of God? YES.
We then become vessels who realize and learn the mysteries of God, as Paul said in 1 Corinthians 4:So look at Apollos and me as mere servants of Christ who have been put in charge of explaining God’s mysteries. 2 Now, a person who is put in charge as a manager must be faithful. 3 As for me, it matters very little how I might be evaluated by you or by any human authority. I don’t even trust my own judgment on this point. 4 My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide. If we are going to be "mangers" of explaining God's mysteries, then we better know our stuff and rely on the Word of God to explain those mysteries, because the Word does explain it all.
All means all!! No guesswork in following God because His Word and His promises are very specific and if you will avoid the "human filter" that minimizes the truth of God's Word, then you will begin to see the whole picture and just how informative the Word of God really is for everything. A very important part of this change of heart is to protect your heart at all costs. Proverbs 4:Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Jesus changed the course of Saul's life when He met him on the road to Damascus and every day after that. When we change at the heart level we begin to realize this bigger picture is not beyond our understanding because it has all been revealed in Jesus, our Messiah. Colossians 2:2 I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself.
When you are born again you a have radical change at heart level and your heart begins to influence and shape your mind and there is a hunger to know the God who saved you. Paul wrote to his "son in the faith" Timothy with some very important instructions that we all must follow when we have this change of heart called salvation. 1 Timothy 6:11 But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.
