Faithfulness is Four Easy Steps

Updated: Apr 30

Step 2b- continued - Consistency (def) - the achievement of a level of performance that does not vary greatly in quality over time. Our God is our audience and He is watching to see what we do with what He has given us. The Psalmist spoke to the significance God puts in our lives at our point of life, for sure, within the womb. God's plan for your life is a wonderful plan, and choosing that plan further confirms He is alive in your spirit. To seek God's will is one thing, and still another to follow that will to the abundant life He promises to all who are His children. The Holy Spirit puts the nail in the plan and continues to guide us all along the way, which is why our prayer life is vital to following God's plan. I know some people who "read" God's Word, but that word never comes alive in their actions because all they are doing is reading and not letting it change their hearts. God is super active through His Word, and that activity is lived out through His children. You and me.

God has made us a masterpiece of His creation and Jesus dying to free us from the burden of our sins, is a further confirmation that God wants us to "come alive" and follow His leading. For years I have been called to "wake up" those who know Jesus to the fact that they must follow His call from on high and set into motion a super power of faith, love, and commitment that the enemy cannot contend with or stop. God is our consistency!!

I have examples of names like Doug Pierce, Craig Miller, Kevin Smith, Todd Johnson, Seth Warren (my son), and more recently, Addie Lentz. I have seen the Holy Spirit in their lives, and they have surrendered to a higher calling and a higher way of living, and God is controlling their destinies and their daily lives. God is the provider of the power and the consistency to grow in that power, and He wants us all to wake up and follow Him like these great people of the faith.

Step 2c - Motion - Moving forward in faith is the final part of these steps, and this forward motion has its ups and downs. First of all, the enemy's radar perks up when a believer commits to faithfulness, and then the need for the Holy Spirit's help and cover are necessary. I believe the persecution Jesus speaks of in Matthew 5:11 is what happens to those who commit to move forward and allow God to set us into motion, called, confirmed, and controlled by our Heavenly Father. Following that call is where that blessing lies. Matthew 5: God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. We are not to be "static." We are like Paul in so many ways. Paul wanted to spread the gospel wherever He could and He never stopped because he was "called" and God set Him into motion. Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and declared, “It was necessary that we first preach the word of God to you Jews. But since you have rejected it and judged yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we will offer it to the Gentiles. 47 For the Lord gave us this command when he said, ‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.

Faithfulness is possible, but weighing the commitment is important. Luke 14:28 “But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?29 Otherwise, you might complete only the foundation before running out of money, and then everyone would laugh at you.30 They would say, ‘There’s the person who started that building and couldn’t afford to finish it!’ Be a good finisher and thus complete your life with these words ringing in your ears: Well done good and faithful servant. Matthew 25:21 “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!

More mountains to climb and more souls left to find Jesus. Get to work! Paul's words to the Ephesians says it all in Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
