Vision for Life - Forward #2
Today, we will look at the bells that should be and can be ringing when finding our place in serving the Lord and moving forward in our faith. Bell #1 - Step forward in your personal walk by a commitment to share what Christ has done for you. Your story and your conversion are powerful, and God will use both to win others to Jesus. Why? This is the story of your personal faith in Jesus. Bell #2 – Step forward in studying God’s word . When you have pure truth as your gui

Vision for Life - Fellowship #2
Yesterday's blog featured the need for true elements to be in a born-again believer's life, and these elements cause us to seek out and make connections with other believers as led by the Holy Spirit. When those believers get together, they find out that even though they are different, they are still very much the same. The Word of God uses the word like-miinded, and only God can make this happen. I will speak to another part of this uniquie fellowship called "The Church."

Vision for Life - Fellowship #1
A very important part of growing in your faith walk is our interaction with other believers, and this very spiritual fellowship is called a Koinonia fellowship. God takes a group of people who have a very personal faith, and connects them at the heart level to develop and build what the Bible calls the church!! It is so much more than a building, because it is an ever-growing organism that is full of like-minded people of faith. This blog takes excerpts of my book Vision fo

Portal
Since my diagnosis of cancer, I am seeing and hearing new terminology, and portal is one of those terms. Portal (def) - A portal is a doorway, gate, or entrance. I have a portal to access my medical records, and if I remember my password, I can get into this vital information about my health and access it quite often as of late. We also have a spiritual portal, in a sense. We have access to the mysteries of God, and the Holy Spirit has come to help us access that portal s

Craftsman
I really love Craftsman tools, and they are just what the word means. Craftsman (def) - A craftsman is a highly skilled worker who practices a specific trade or handicraft, typically creating functional or decorative objects by hand. Often synonymous with an artisan, a true craftsman is recognized for painstaking precision, technical dexterity, and a masterful understanding of their materials. My son, Seth, is a craftsman, and his creations are impressive, but nothing compa

Humility
God takes care of those who serve humbly. Not expecting anything, but thankful to just be a part of God's plan. Humble people can be taken for granted and taken advantage of so easily because their hearts are turned toward the one they love, and that is Almighty God. King David was very humble, and in Psalm 100:1, Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues f

Was, and Is, and Will Be
Hebrews 13: 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In our human, worldly way of thinking, we tend to limit God, and that is just so wrong!! Some people mix in a little of their thinking with a little bit of God's Word, and they come up with something they call faith. But is it faith? The Bible says in John 14: 1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not s

Purchased
When God showed His love for us by sending Jesus to die for our sins, Jesus paid the debt I owed. That debt cost Jesus His blood, but that blood covered my sins, so that I do not look at God as a sinner anymore. His grace covers my sin, and I am justified!! This shows that self-righteousness is no good for me or from me anymore because I live in the righteousness of God. I keep current in my pilgrimage by confessing my sin. 1 John 1: 9 But if we confess our sins to him, h

Life
As a born-again believer, I don't have to think very long to realize I have life because Jesus is my life. When I prayed to receive Jesus by faith, God gave me the free gift of salvation. I could not do anything to earn it or be good enough to get this eternal "life." God in His gracious gift gave me LIFE. Jesus said the resulting life wouldn't be a "just get by" life, but it would be an abundant life as promised by God. Praise God for this life!! In his letter to the ch

Flavor
Luke 14:34 “Salt is good for seasoning. But if it loses its flavor, how do you make it salty again? 35 Flavorless salt is good neither for the soil nor for the manure pile. It is thrown away. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!” I love seasoning, especially salt and pepper, and when I put salt and pepper on some fries, I almost lose consciousness because it is so flavorful. Or full of flavor. I have been using sea salt as of late, and it just doesn't do

Foundations
We lived in an old house in West Plains, Missouri, on South Hill Street, and we loved that house the best of all our houses. There is always quite a lot of maintenance on an old house, and this one had "needs." But we loved it, so we didn't mind it so much. It had a cellar that was about eight feet by eight feet, and when I was under there working on a bathroom pipe problem, I noticed in the corner, there was a strong section of rock and concrete, and God brought to mind th

Logs
It seems like I hear a lot of Christians judging others in our world and in our churches. I believe this is just a distraction from the enemy. This judgment comes from a fleshly attitude about life itself. Matthew 7: 1 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. 2 For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. 3 “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?

One
God has made it possible for us to be insiders, and because of sin, we were once outsiders, but everything changed when Jesus died and rose again. Paul wrote about this oneness in his letter to the church in Ephesus. Ephesians 2: 1 Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts. 12 In those days you were living apar
