Prayer

I want to praise God in this blog in a very personal way that I share with all who read

my blog. First of all, God hears our prayers, and God answers our prayers. The rest is up to God. How He responds is. Up to Him, and trusting Him in what we qualify as big things and small things is very important. Conclusion: God answers the prayers of His children.

In my faith walk, here is what has been going on in my life. I have had a constant problem with my prostate, and I went to get a prostate exam (oh joy) in March, and after the guy did the exam, he stepped back and said, "I think you have prostate cancer," to which I said, "No way!" But after an MRI, they concluded I had cancer in my prostate, and steps were taken to see if the cancer was somewhere else. I had a biopsy, and it showed cancer in about five areas. I then took a PET scan, and that showed the cancer had metastasized in five areas in my bones. NOT GOOD NEWS!! To my surprise, I did not freak out, but I spread the news, and people began praying for my healing, and some of these people were all over the country. Full disclosure: I am not known all over the country, like I am somebody, but I have been all over the country in different churches ie.California, North Carolina, Missouri, Arkansas, and Alabama.

Fast forward to a trip to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, and a flight that my wonderful, Godly wife took with me, even though she is scared to fly. I went to one of the top urologists in the country, and he told me my PET scan was not reliable because it was blurry in some areas, and he took a CT scan at MD Anderson. My psa before going to MD Anderson was 4.1, which is not that good, showing the presence of cancer. Before all this happened, during one of my prayer times, I believe God told me something curious, and that was FIGHT. Andra just knew I had cancer when I told her about that prayer time.

People all over are praying for healing, but this CANCER. A footnote: the doctor in Texas said I had a very aggressive form of Prostate cancer. A

month goes by, and I have my labs at my local cancer center, and my psa comes back 0.29. My local oncologist was ecstatic about the change and hinted at moving toward remission. New cancer meds were prescribed, and another month went by. I took my labs before my next appointment, and my psa came back 0.008, which showed no detection of cancer! My oncologist burst into the exam room excited about what had happened, and I left that appointment after being told there was no cancer evident and that I was in 100% remission.

Andra and I were so overwhelmed by the miracle we had experienced, and we felt numb at all that had transpired. Full disclosure means I had aggressive cancer, and through prayer and God's mercy, I am healed! I was so hesitant to share this, but God did it, and I glorify Him for doing it. I do not deserve His healing me, but praise God He has healed me. From aggressive, stage 4 prostate cancer to healing in a short period of time. No chemotherapy, no radiation, HEALED.

I will say, my very best attempt to fix myself would fail miserably, but putting myself in God's hands is where I found my healing. God did it!

If you are doubting the effect of your prayers in a tumultuous world, do not doubt God, and miracles still happen. Andra and I pray for our leaders, our country, the world, and all in between. The Apostle Paul wrote the following words to Timothy in 1 Timothy 2: 1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. 7 And I have been chosen as a preacher and apostle to teach the Gentiles this message about faith and truth. I’m not exaggerating—just telling the truth. 8 In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.

When people encourage you to pray for God to move and do great things, remember, He is able, and we need His help every day. I believe God is calling all of us to FIGHT, as He called me to fight, and here is how we FIGHT!!

Ephesians 6:10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Prayer works!!!

The Pilgrimage Continues,

David Warren
