Zombies

Before Jesus. Paul wrote to the believers in Ephesus, reminding us of the change that has taken place when we truly "come alive" in Jesus.

The before- Ephesians 2: 1 Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. We were zombies. Walking, breathing, but no true life in us. ZOMBIES.

The After - Ephesians 2: But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. We left our old selves at the cross, and God gave us the new self, and we are truly alive in Jesus. We are raised from the dead along with Jesus, and this new life is eternal and awesome!! We are not the walking dead. We are the "walking alive" and not just alive, "abundantly alive." So live, not as dead men, but as those who are alive. We cannot do this on our own, but Jesus DID do this for all who would believe.

Ephesians 2: You are a masterpiece of infinite worth now that Jesus is in your life!!!

We have been raised by Jesus to a whole new life, and here is the result. Colossians 3:Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

All of the things we need for living this life is found in the Word of God, so read, and God will reveal all the mysteries of life so you can be the Walking Alive. This blog was the result of mine and Andra's Bible Study this morning, so thanks Andra for your contribution.

The Pilgrimage Continues,
