Speaker

I firmly believe Jesus speaks to His followers through His word, yes, and other ways also. Here is one example of Jesus speaking to Saul on the road to Damascus. Acts 9: 1 Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest. He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the Way he found there. He wanted to bring them—both men and women—back to Jerusalem in chains. As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?” “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

Jesus got Paul's attention because God had big plans for the one who, up until that moment, was getting followers of The Way killed or imprisoned. Saul had seen to the death of Stephen, and he wasn't going to stop there as he approached Damascus with letters to get more arrested and killed. Jesus intervened and struck Saul blind and then sent a believer to lay hands on him and send Him on the Jesus way. He was totally changed because Jesus spoke to him and then sent him. Acts 9: 15 But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. 16 And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

I love to listen to music over quality speakers that have a rich sound that makes the music come alive in my ears. Bad speakers are just that, bad, and I don't enjoy the music at all when the speakers are cheap and poorly put together. Just imagine the voice of Jesus calling out to you and the beautiful voice quality of that call. The end result for Saul was a changed life, and with God's call on his life and the power of the Holy Spirit showing Him the way, our world was changed forever, because of God using one willing man.

Is the call of Jesus on your life coming through clearly, and is it beautiful and life-changing? His call is real and, of course, life-altering, because it is a call to a new life purpose, which is serving the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. If he has called you, then you have heard that call on beautiful speakers that are located in your heart, not your ear. Now, the choice is something you need to deal with, and will you listen to that call and follow your Lord to begin your journey of faith? If so, step out and begin the journey just like Paul did, and God will do more than you could ever imagine through your life. If you are waffling, then turn up the heavenly speakers and the sound will change your life. I wrote a song that tells the story of Saul's conversion that I believe will help you hear the process and how Jesus met Saul on that road to Damascus and changed Paul's life.
