Worth Repeating

I wrote a book a couple of years ago, and God was good to take my feeble, limited mind and give me some insights through His Word. I am going to take the next two weeks to let you see one of the chapters. Some of the truths in this chapter may spark a desire in you to serve God in a more dedicated way. If so, then that will be great. If not, it was worth a try.
The book is entitled Vision Maker, and I hope today's post will encourage you.
Momentum - A.W. Tozer wrote, “I want the presence of God Himself, or I don't want anything at all to do with religion... I want all that God has or I don't want any.”
Nothing else and no one else will give you the vision for following God more than God Himself.
The personal vision for you is grounded in a life that is established on God and His Word. Psalms 26: 8 O Lord, I love the habitation of Your house and the place where Your glory dwells. 9 Do not take my soul away along with sinners, nor my life with men of bloodshed, 10 In whose hands is a wicked scheme, and whose right hand is full of bribes. 11 But as for me, I shall walk in integrity. Redeem me and be gracious to me.12 My foot stands on a level place; In the congregations I shall bless the Lord.
Our personal vision involves us living a life that is not just a follower of others. But you establish your foundation on God. Through that very intentional prayer life God will show you where your faith will best serve Him.
Now, back to this scripture… Psalm 37:23 says 23 The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
What is this scripture saying to you now? What changed or what has now changed for you.
Because of Jesus, our vision for life is different from others, and we need to pursue that vision as we pursue God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Set the vision into motion. I love riding bicycles, and I have always tried to pick up how to successfully ride hills by using momentum to be able to ride those hills successfully. Gravity comes into play when going up and down a hill. The realization that there will be times I am going against gravity and there will be times I am going with gravity also points to setting your vision in motion.
Up the Hill
Going against gravity, but we do not quit pumping!! Christians with vision many times find themselves going “against the flow. That “flow” can come from the world and from the Christian community. If you know where God is leading you, and you know it is right, don’t fall away from what He is calling you to do. But if God gives you a word of wisdom and shows you your direction, it might need some adjusting. Be willing to adjust and keep pride on the back burner. Time and patience are two things that may need adjusting, and pedaling up that hill may test your resolve, but keep going, and God will work it all out.
Down the Hill
Then there are times when you sense things are moving along smoothly. And you notice that God is setting into motion a boost in your faith walk that continues to drive your personal vision to new heights. It is very important to give praise to God during those times and continue to seek God for direction and strength.
Never take a vision for granted, and always keep current in your Bible study and prayer to keep yourself grounded and focused. Always keep your focus on Jesus, and you will continue to move into a realm that allows you to handle the mountains ahead of you. Let momentum take you to a super-charged faith walk where God reveals more and more of Himself to you.
