Portal

Since my diagnosis of cancer, I am seeing and hearing new terminology, and portal

is one of those terms. Portal (def) - A portal is a doorway, gate, or entrance. I have a portal to access my medical records, and if I remember my password, I can get into this vital information about my health and access it quite often as of late. We also have a spiritual portal, in a sense. We have access to the mysteries of God, and the Holy Spirit has come to help us access that portal so we may grow closer to God in our faith walk,

The Holy Spirit has many actions in our soul that are vital to our growth as believers, and here are three of them.

Conviction(def) - The inward realization that your thoughts, actions, or attitudes contradict God's holiness. John 16: ⁵ “But now I am going away to the one who sent me, and not one of you is asking where I am going. ⁶ Instead, you grieve because of what I’ve told you. ⁷ But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. ⁸ And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. ⁹ The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. ¹⁰ Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. ¹¹ Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.

Restoration (def) - the act of returning something to its original, former, or unimpaired condition. The restoring grace of God not only makes us right for eternity with our holy God, but makes it as if the sin was never committed. The grace of God is like a "spiritual bomb" going off in our soul, and the effect is the desire to NOT do that sin again. Brand new AGAIN. The Holy Spirit is involved heavily in this restoration, and the conviction of the Holy Spirit leads us to a place of life change that draws us nearer to God. The result is a more holy life and lifestyle because of the Holy Spirit's conviction and God's grace. God's grace and restoration are not destructive, but redemptive. John 16:⁸ And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness,

Spiritual (def) - the inner, non-material dimensions of life, the soul, or things transcending ordinary physical existence. Ephesians 5:¹⁵ So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. ¹⁶ Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. ¹⁷ Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. ¹⁸ Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.

We symbolically have this portal in our soul, and we need to only allow access by the Holy Spirit so we can grow in this grace given by God. To grow more and more in our faith walk, we need to pray for the Holy Spirit to continually draw us closer to God, and the further we get in this portal, the more access we have to the mysteries of God as given by the Word of God. We should never give the enemy, the world, access to that precious part of our life, the soul. We are guarded by the Holy Spirit, our advocate, and He continues to show us how to live and how to access this power from God. In John 16, Jesus wanted to give more access to the Lord. He said they couldn't handle it at that point, so He sent the Holy Spirit to show them how to access this portal. John 16: ¹² “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. ¹³ When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. ¹⁴ He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. ¹⁵ All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’ WE NEED THE HELP OF OUR ADVOCATE, THE HOLY SPIRIT!! He is the Spirit of Truth, and I need this pure truth, and it is available; it gives us our 'spiritual medical records' so we may get the right care for our soul as given by our heavenly Father.
