Where to Go From Here?

We may wonder "What is my purpose?" and the question is one that God answers again and again. A visionless life is a life of confusion because we have the Holy Spirit in our life but our old way of thinking and living keeps drawing us away from the purposes of God. The old nature is called "the flesh" and the best way to distance yourself from the flesh is to pour your life and efforts into God's will and His purposes. When the Holy Spirit came on the disciples at Pentecost there was a direct result in Peter's life and that was preaching a message of repentance to a large group of people on a porch in Jerusalem.

The end result of Peter preaching the message of hope and victory on that porch was about 3,000 all coming to faith in Jesus, and they were baptized. You can be sure that when God sends you to do His will lives will be changed and you will become an important part of God's plan. Yes, You!! Do not forget the abundant life that Jesus promised for each of His followers and that abundant life is a life of power and purpose. God's purpose!

Right after all those converts the believers formed a community of believers and that community was not a "just us" type of community. As their fellowship deepened they were adding souls every day as people's lives were changed. It is amazing what new converts to the faith can do to inject life and purpose into a fellowship of believers, known as a church. Yet we still do not make that the priority in our fellowship. Why not? I believe our enemy has a hand in the mix on that one and his desire to keep us segmented and not unified will result in spiritual death in that fellowship. God wants us to be like-minded and that is possible only through following through with God's plan for reaching the world. You are a significant part of that plan because if you are a follower of Jesus you have a testimony of what God has done in your life, just like Peter.

It is time to devote your life to God and follow His awesome plan for your life. In this relationship, you will find a purpose that causes everything else to fall to the side. Some may call this becoming a fanatic, but I call it coming alive! Just imagine the God of the Universe calling you to serve Him and that same God enabling you, with His power, to do the work. Talk about hyperdrive faith!! No more wondering who you are or what am I here for, but very focused living that has purpose and power to make every day an awesome day. An old Rich Mullins song tells it well. Our God is an awesome God. He reigns from heaven above with wisdom, power, and love. Our God is an awesome God.

Realize this "You could miss the awesomeness of God" because you never moved forward in your faith! How sad. There is so much more to this relationship with Jesus than what religion offers. Embrace Jesus and let your faith grow and God will do a great work in .your life that will cause you to be in awe of His great love. Relationship vs Religion and relationship wins every time. Time to give in to the Holy Spirit and pray for God to come alive in your life. Where do we go from here? It is unlimited!!
