When the Time is Right

God has been moving and shaking things in our world and in our personal lives forever. God puts things together over time, and when it all falls into place, all the anxiety about something and worry all fade away. God is ever present in our lives, and in our faith walk, He is moving and doing great things we just don't understand. God's time is perfect.
Here is one major example of God's timing. The Birth of Jesus! Yes, the birth of Jesus was all part of God's timing, not Santa Claus, even though Santa has a good feeling about him. We should especially consider God's perfect timing at Christmas, ala "for unto us a child is born!" Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.
God has been getting all of this done, and at just the right time, He sent His Son into the World as a baby. Born of a virgin in Bethlehem, David's birthplace, called the City of David. Since God's perfect timing brought about Jesus, who died for our sins, we should trust God's perfect timing in all things. A more personal testimony of God's timing is found in an experience I went through a couple of months ago. I have had bone-on-bone in my left knee for over five years, and the pain to just get out of a chair had become my constant reminder that something was wrong. I had heard good and bad stories about knee replacement, and I was leery of it at best. I wanted to get the best doctor I could and I just needed a nudge to get committed to the knee replacement. Andra and I were eating at Five Guys, and a friend of mine walked by and greeted us, and I noticed he was walking really well, even though his knee was in bad shape. I asked him if he was going to have surgery, and he told me that he had his knee replaced about three weeks prior. I couldn't believe how good he was walking, and he proceeded to tell me about his doctor in Franklin, Tennessee, and the good results he had from working with that doctor. Then he said I should get with that doctor, and he was sure I would not be disappointed.
At that point, it was like God was saying, "That's your doctor. Now go get your knee done." I called and set up an appointment, had the surgery, and I was amazed at how quickly I recovered, and my knee is awesome and working great. I had very little pain in recovery, and physical therapy was a breeze and so helpful. After five years of wanting that nudge to help me commit came down to a very helpful directed meeting at Five Guys, and the rest is history. I can't fully explain how good my knee works, and I praise God for His perfect timing for me.
Paul wrote to the church in Rome about God's timing, and in Romans 5:6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Everything God does is perfect, and his timing is something we can rely on EVERY TIME. Trust God with today, and every day after this, and trust He is working behind the scenes to keep giving a perfect direction for our lives. If you trust anything else, then you are trusting an imperfect, flawed source. ONLY GOD! God is working, and when the time is right, you will see Him come through!!
