When God mades something happen, it is going to happen! The angel Gabriel was God's great messenger in announcing the birth of John the Baptist to his father, Zacharias, and the birth of Jesus to Mary. In both cases, Gabriel named them. He told Zacharias that his son would be named John and made him mute until the baby was born, so he could share that name with the people. Gabriel also told Mary the name of the child we was going to bear, and that He is the Son of the Most High or God. Gabriel gave her his name, Jesus. He was formally named on the eighth day when He was circumcised and that is found in Luke 2: 21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

Gabriel also appeared to Daniel to help him understand a vision in Daniel 8: 15 As I, Daniel, was trying to understand the meaning of this vision, someone who looked like a man stood in front of me.16 And I heard a human voice calling out from the Ulai River, “Gabriel, tell this man the meaning of his vision.” 17 As Gabriel approached the place where I was standing, I became so terrified that I fell with my face to the ground. “Son of man,” he said, “you must understand that the events you have seen in your vision relate to the time of the end.” 18 While he was speaking, I fainted and lay there with my face to the ground. But Gabriel roused me with a touch and helped me to my feet. Gabriel is a great messenger and always at the right place at the right time with God's message on his lips.
Two times Gabriel shows up and tells of babies being born that will impact the world and he names them both with the names given to Him by God who sent His message through him. And two times Gabriel shows up to give Daniel insight and understanding about visions he was having trouble interpreting. Daniel 9: 21 As I was praying, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the earlier vision, came swiftly to me at the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 He explained to me, “Daniel, I have come here to give you insight and understanding. 23 The moment you began praying, a command was given. And now I am here to tell you what it was, for you are very precious to God. Listen carefully so that you can understand the meaning of your vision.
God loves His children and He is always looking out for us for now and for the future. Trust God to direct your steps and He will set you on the right path forward. God showed so much to Daniel and in the midst of those visions the message Gabriel shared with Daniel was "You are very precious to God." This shows God is totally into what we are doing and He is wanting to lead and guide our steps through our whole life. Trust His Word and believe as the Psalmist did in Psalm 119:Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. We are all on a path in life, so let the light of God's Word be the lamp that shows the way.
The Pilgrimage Continues,
