This week I shared with our worship choir that I was going on a new venture in my ministry calling and resigning from our church staff. In sharing it I had mixed feelings that I would not be able to lead this choir again, but also that I was going to pour myself into helping churches reclaim a vision for reaching this world with the Gospel. All of this is truly bittersweet and God has once again stretched my faith to make me more faithful. I know He is leading in this part of my pilgrimage, so "Here we go!"
The explanation of what I am doing can only be explained as being a much bigger vision for God to use me in my calling than one church. I began Vesselogical Ministries about 16 years ago after God began speaking to my heart in a much deeper way through His word. At the time I did not know just what He was leading me to, but I stayed the course until it all became very clear. So here we are. I will announce my resignation to my church family this Sunday, and my last Sunday will be April 28. I plan on taking a much-needed short sabbatical for about ten days and then getting back into my writing and finishing a workbook to take to those churches who are interested in setting a vision for their ministries.
Andra and I are stepping out in faith and God's calling on our lives is fueling this passion to make a significant difference in the church. If your church or some church you know of is interested in having us come in, we are available to come and we will help your church organize for growth and follow through all of the steps with that church. We will do a very hands-on approach and leave you and your staff with all the tools to continue to grow and "be the church." I can also help in the area of Worship Coordination, as I have been a worship pastor for over 24 years and continue to mobilize church choirs to become worship choirs and thus keep the choir in the church.
We are more at peace than we have been for many years and When One Thing Ends Another Begins and this is the beginning. Pray for us as we travel this pilgrimage.
The Pilgrimage Continues,
David Warren
