(A Fictional Story) Chapter 2
One day word got out that the prince was coming back through the kingdom and the young man made his way to the highway so he could get a glimpse of the prince. The young man thought "The prince won't even remember me, but if I can get one look at him I believe it will encourage me to step out even more in the power of the life-giver."
On the day the prince was supposed to come through the village the young man made his way to the road only to find that the village people crowded out his ability to even get close to the road, so the young man just gave up. Soon he heard the procession coming down the road and he thought "I'm gonna miss the prince. No way I can get his attention." All of a sudden he noticed people were starting to move in front of him and the crowd parted and he was standing face to face with none other than the prince! He couldn't believe his eyes and as he began to cry and bowed his head the prince asked him. "Could I get a drink of water?" The young man lifted his head and replied "I would be glad to give you a drink my prince."
The young man rushed to the well got a cup of fresh water and brought it to the prince. The whole crowd wondered who this young man was and the prince explained "I gave this young man the power of the life-giver and he promised to always believe in it and he still believes, don't you?" The young man felt very sheepish because there were times when he really questioned if the power was real and everyone was trying to convince him the power was not real. But he had kept a pure, simple faith in the purity of the prince's words given to him as a young boy and still believed, even though others had quit believing. At this point, the prince got on his horse and offered a hand to the young man. The young man jumped on the horse with the prince and the prince continued on his journey.
As they traveled the young man explained how he had depended on others to "keep the faith" but he was constantly disappointed by their lack of faith and their excuses for not believing in the power of the life-giver. The prince smiled and said, "I told you that many would fall away from their belief in the power of the life-giver because of their human reasoning." The young man said "At times I doubted too, but I felt the life-giver's tug on my heart to keep believing. I feel like my faith is weak and compromised because I have been listening to the wrong people. These people are dishonoring the life-giver by saying there isn't even any power anymore and to believe in the power is stupid and wrong." The prince looked deep into the eyes of the young man and said "But you believe and now it is time to lift up the life-giver and his power will be made evident for all the kingdom." The young man said, "What can I do to make this happen?" The prince said, "Remember the last word I said to you when we parted ways when you were a boy?" The young man replied "Yes. All you said was BELIEVE!
The prince stopped his horse and let the young man off and told him "That is all you need to do is believe." The young man asked, "Where do I go from here?" The prince told him these words "I will be with you wherever you go, so go everywhere and let the power be seen in your life and just BELIEVE! The young man felt so close to the life-giver when the prince told him what to do and he committed to believing in the power no matter who tried to talk him out of believing. The prince kicked his horse into a gallop and when he was just about out of sight he yelled BELIEVE!
The young man abandoned his unbelief from the past and a fire was fanned into flame in his heart. He went from there on believing in the power of the life-giver no matter what anyone else believed because the prince had told him to BELIEVE and that was all he needed to keep going. If you have met the prince, you have the power of the life-giver and the prince is with you right now in spirit and he is still saying BELIEVE! 1 Timothy 4:10 This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.
We believe in the power of the Words of the Prince. Jesus is the Word. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
