The children of Israel have been in bondage to Eqypt for over 400 years and now Moses comes to lead them out of that bondage as God has told him to do. As they get to the shore of the Red Sea, they seem to have run out of options. But Moses prays to God and God parts the Red Sea and the Hebrews cross on dry land. The Eqyptians follow them still hoping to kill them all and God causes the sea to come in on them and drowns them all. The Hebrews have been saved and in Exodus 15 they are on the shore after seeing God move in an incredible way and they begin to sing. Here is part of their song in verses 1-3 Then Moses and the sons of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and said, I will sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted; The horse and its rider He has hurled into the sea. 2 “The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will extol Him. 3 “The Lord is a warrior; The Lord is His name.
I will promise you they weren't singing, "Do you think that might have been God who did that?" They KNEW it was God and saw first hand the power of Almighty God. They saw that God is a warrior and could not hold back from proclaiming that He is all powerful. Too many times we say the words, "Our God is All powerful", but how many times do we truly believe it? The writer of Hebrews wrote in Hebrews 1:God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,4 having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.
This scripture is speaking about Jesus and the power of Almighty Godand that power is also evident in Jesus, our Savior. That power was made evident as Jesus defeated death, hell, and the grave. We sometimes forget that the power of God is working in our lives as God loves us, His children and protects us at every turn. We may not be facing a literal Red Sea, but immovable problems in our lives can seem that way to us. To Me I have no other choice but to trust God and believe that His power is working a great work in my life and that He is the foundation in my life that never cracks. In speaking to the prophet Jeremiah, God speaks and says in Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?” From our perspective the Red Sea experience seems so "out there" and powerful, even beyond our comprehension, but it shouldn't be. He is God and He is all powerful!! Nuf said!
Let God be the warrior for you and you will face your Red Seas with faith and He will always come through. He will come through like the loving God He is and you will be amazed at how "present" God is in your circumstances of life because He is a Warrior and He is fighting for His children. Psalm 91:11 says For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. And also in Hebrews 1:14 the writer says 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
God is a warrior and He is on our side, so keep the faith and let the warrior fight those battles you are facing right now and He will provide a way!!
