Genesis 6:18 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you.
When God establishes a covenant with us...IT IS A REAL COVENANT. If you have ever been part of an HOA you find out real quick, "You better keep your yard mowed and don't cut down any trees without permission." I mean, it's a covenant and it is supposed to put you in good fellowship with your neighbors who also signed the covenant. But sometimes it doesn't work that way. Those covenants, after some time, begin to be forgotten and what seemed so good at the onset becomes something of a.....yea whatever.
Not with God. His covenant is a lasting covenant that is unchanging, unless HE wants to change it. Nuf said!!! God flooded the earth with water and started again and then gave us this promise that was on the front gate of The Ark Encounter. The scripture verse may be a little too hard to see but it is Genesis 9:11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” From time to time I if we have a few days of rain in a row someone will invariably say " I'm looking for a guy building an ark...." No need to look for him. because that flood will never happen again,...per the Lord God. God's covenant! Very real, very pure, very lasting, and you can depend on it to never wain over the many years since the world was flooded.
The Lord's Blood Covenant is also lasting and pure and true. His Son, Jesus shed his blood for the remission of sin and gave us an eternal covenant for eternity in heaven. That covenant is also lasting. Some Christians get to thinking that maybe I need to do more for God in order to deserve that covenant and if you believe that then you are missing the point of God's covenant with us . it is all about what Jesus did and our attempt to make ourselves right is feeble at best and frustrating at worst. Here is God's covenant to us as told by Jesus in John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. You can bank your eternity on that one and live a life of freedom that is only given through Jesus Christ, the Way the Truth and the Life!
That is what is called The Jesus Encounter and that one is for real as well. Have you trusted your life to Jesus? If not, why not? Do it today before it is eternally too late. When God closed the door of the Ark don't you think there were many who had changed their minds when the rain came and wanted in? But it was too late. Get on the Gospel Ship and give your life to Jesus and confess your sins and He will come into our heart and give you eternal life. Per His covenant. By the way, The Rainbow is for God's covenant with us and it means nothing else!!!
