Road Work Ahead

Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

In a time when things are changing around us; our way of meeting together as believers, our response to people around, and many more things too many to mention. It seems like God is positioning us for some radical changes in the way we do the Christian Walk. I will tell you right now I like change and especially if change takes us to a whole new realm of thinking that aligns with God. As you hopefully now can see, change is here!!! Now we have to respond to that change and follow God’s road signs to adapt to that change and not fight against it.

If we will open our eyes and ears to understand what God is doing in this new “norm” we will make our way forward in faith and have a newfound vision to respond in the way God wants us to. In Matthew 13 Jesus was speaking in parables and the disciples asked why He spoke in parables. Here is what Jesus said to them, 1He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not. 12 To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them. 13 That is why I use these parables, For they look, but they don’t really see. They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand. So Jesus gave His disciples, and that is you and me, the ability to see clearly what was going on and see things clearly which may seem cryptic to a lost and dying world. All of the road signs we have been seeing along the way like : churches huddling in overpriced buildings and not reaching out; Christians missing the main point of why Jesus died and not sharing their faith; and Christians worshipping worship and not the Creator have all been road signs that show us there had to be some changes made. CHANGE!!

In Isaiah 43 the prophet told of new things that would be happening. Do you know what new things are? They are things we have never seen before……NEW!! We have new things happening right now and we are hearing words like “never before seen” and “unprecedented” used in a daily diet of worry and questioning. Well, the questioning will continue and if we are tied into God through His Word and His Spirit, clarity will begin to make it’s way on the scene. Now it comes back to those of us whom Jesus has saved and given eyes to see and ears to hear what God is doing right now in our midst. It is time for us to respond to this new thing in faith. Believe it or not, this is our awakening, but don’t get caught sleeping too long and miss it. We need to step up and say Yes Lord, and move even closer to God and lean in to what He is doing in this whole new thing and then see God use us to once again be the ambassadors He has called us to be. Don’t fight the cloud of change because God is in the cloud..Road Word ahead!!!

The Pilgrimage continues…..
