Resurrection and Life-Part 2

We sometimes talk about Jesus in glowing, general terms as believers and forget that He is in us through the Holy Spirit, and that might cause us to keep Him at "arm's length" when it comes to our faith walk. Once again, Jesus is alive, really alive!! To fully realize that changes the position of our faith to more of a very present Savior than one that is coming soon. And I believe He is coming soon. But what about "in the middle?" The Psalmist writes of our very present God in Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
We are one day away from the celebration of Easter, and even on a Monday, Jesus is very present and accounted for in every situation. Jesus further confirms that the very present God we follow is our life, and that life is active and growing. Jesus said this to Thomas, who didn't really get what Jesus was saying, that a time was coming when we would get a prepared place (heaven) for us. John. 14:5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Another confirmation from Jesus is found in John 6:35, where He says, 35 Then Jesus declared, 'I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. God is all about responding to those He knows, who have His righteousness and the Psalmist speaks to how God is watching out for those who know Him through Jesus. Psalms 34:15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; 16 but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth. David wrote the 34th Psalm during a time of personal distress, when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech. God was there during his time of trouble and protected him from Saul, who was pursuing him. Here is what brought him to this time of trouble. David kills Goliath and marries Saul's daughter. Saul tries to kill David, but Jonathan, Saul's son, helps him. David is then on the run from Saul and ends up in the town of Nob. He goes to the priest Ahimelech to get food, and during this time, he pretends to be insane to get away. God came through "right then" to help David and keep him alive, and the result is Psalm 34. What Psalm would you write to show how God has helped you in the present tense? God is our righteousness and our life all day and every day. Trust Him to help you right now and He will come through every time.
