Power

Jesus is the power we need to live a victorious life, and He enables us to thrive in our walk of faith as we follow His word. Paul’s letter to the church in Colossae helps us see the power, presence, and strength of our mighty Savior, who walks with all who are born again.  Colossians 1:¹⁵ Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.

He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation; ¹⁶ for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. He created everything through him and for him.

¹⁷ He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. ¹⁸ Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body.

He is the beginning, and he is supreme over all who rise from the dead.  So he is first in everything.

Jesus IS our power source!!  Walking in faith in Jesus is a needed move for all who call Him Savior and Lord.  To walk alone and in our own strength is a move of foolishness, when the power to live a victorious life has been given by God to us, and His name is Jesus. The world may be offering a lot to us right now, but the only offer of power is from Jesus.  He is over all and given a place of honor in the heavenly places and on earth.  Philippians 2:^15: Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,¹⁶ for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see

and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. ¹⁷ He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.¹⁸ Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.

So what do we do in our faith walk?  We thrive in the name of Jesus, and we live in victory in our faith.  The enemy has polluted this heavenly message given to us by God and tried to tamp us down into defeat, but Jesus cannot be contained, and He is in your heart in the power of the Holy Spirit.  We are compelled to “shine brightly” and pray the power of Jesus into our lives, and study God’s Word to understand and respond in the darkness we live in today.  Jesus is more powerful than any other force in existence, and His light shines through each of us in our faith walk.  Forget the doubt, and forget the fear. LET HIM SHINE!

Paul also wrote these words after explaining who Jesus is and how much power is available to all who follow Him, but this power is given to shine brightly and lift up the name of Jesus.  Philippians 2:^15: Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.

He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,¹⁶ for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see

and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. ¹⁷ He existed before anything else,

and he holds all creation together. ¹⁸ Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead.  So he is first in everything.

Christian worship leader Hope Darst wrote a stirring song that proclaims who we are following in "In the Mighty Name of Jesus.  The lyrics are listed below:

[Verse 1]

I pray into the atmosphere Spirit of God, you're here

You have all authority I pray over my heart and mind

I am healed by your stripes Your blood declares that I am free

[Chorus]

In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray

Calling on the power of Heaven, I proclaim

Every weapon formed against me must break

In the mighty name of Jesus

We must be salt and light, but we are only salt and light through the power of Jesus. Time to release the power of Jesus into the mix in your life and let Him purify and establish every motive and every intent to align with the will of God!!  The power is here and ready to work, so do not doubt and live in victory and SHINE.  Just surrender to His will because the desire is there.

Philippians 2:¹³ For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

The Pilgrimage Continues,

David Warren
