Remodeled

The last part I will comment on in the area of sanctification is walking in the new life that is progressively growing in your faith walk.  Like an older home that needs remodeling, the new life we now have shows us there are some things that need to be fixed and upgraded, because there are needs for it.  Like foundational needs, rot, decay, and many other things.   You wouldn’t remodel a home and just cover up the things that need to be replaced, because you know those things will come back to get you because they were not addressed properly and replaced. Paul wrote this to the church in Colossae in Colossian 3: 10 Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.11 In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized,  slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.

No matter your past experience in your church life, or daily life, this new life is a remodel and certain things need to be replaced to help you continue to grow deeper in your faith walk.  The process of sanctification will continue to draw us closer to who God wants us to be, and the old sins or habits of the past need to be dealt with at a heart level.  The writer of Proverbs says it this way in Proverbs 4: 23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.  The course of your life also alludes to the remodeled house illustration that shows us how much a newly remodeled home is just like new.

Ephesians 4: 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.  This is what the Bible calls a “total reset” or a refresh, and the result is a life of victory and purpose.  Who wouldn’t accept a newly remodeled life?  Uh…..no one!  Just let God do the remodeling and the new life will thrive as never before.

The Pilgrimage Continues,

Old Self/New Self

In my study of Sanctification, I am finding out that there are clear indications this process is working and progressing. I have broken this down in my personal study in the following way. 1. Narcis
