No Greater Purpose

We search in our lives for great things that we can attach to our life purpose, and the drive within each of us will wane over time, but should we allow that to happen? Paul wrote to the church at Corinth about this very subject, and boy, this writing is very encouraging to me. I hope it is to you also. 2 Corinthians 4:16 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. Yep. We are dying, and sometimes this sobering fact can weigh us down, but perhaps we can see a better perspective. We are alive in Jesus. Really alive!!
We just never know what life will send our way, but whatever it is, we need to rely on the strength of our Savior to intervene and keep our focus on what is to come, or as it says in the above verses, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. This could be nothing more than a "pump up" set of words that I have contrived to try and help each of us to just get by. But, it is more, because God is more, and He has a Greater Purpose than what I am experiencing now, and I anticipate Him to do even greater things than He has already done.
The abundant life is just that "a life of great abundance." Abundant hope, abundant faith, abundant purpose, and many other "abundants." How can I say this? Because I know God and He isn't finished with me yet, and I am believing for that for you as well. God is the one who gives us air in our lungs and thoughts in our heads, and no matter the age, every day is a new day in Him. For me, not accepting being called an "old person" is not a thing where I am dealing with my pride. For me, every day is really a "new" day, and every moment is an opportunity to experience something new and exciting with the Lord leading me along. Oh, I know the body has to be able to keep up with this thought, but with God that comes along if God is in this new thing. God spoke to Isaiah in Isaiah 43:18 “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. 19 For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. If there really is a new, then God is the new that we need, and with His perfect creativity, we experience this life at a different level.
What is our greatest purpose? Just experience this life that God has given us at a heavenly level and let the fullness of God through the Holy Spirit generate a new perception, and a new level of understanding and power for you to live EVERY day. If you need a scripture to get to this new way of thinking, then read what the Psalmist says in Psalm 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Yesterday is gone, and today is wasting away. Get moving and prove God's Word is real and true by how God readjusts your thinking and you will experience personal revival. Paul said it best in Ephesians 5:15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity.
