Over the next few blogs I will be taking excerpts from my book Vision Maker and sharing them with you. If you want a copy of the whole book you can purchase it on Amazon.
“Live the Life of Your Dreams: Be brave enough to live the life of your dreams according to your vision and purpose instead of the expectations and opinions of others.” Roy T. Bennett
Habakkuk 2:2 Then the Lord answered me and said “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run. 3 “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.
What is the purpose of Vision? To look toward accomplishing a dream given by God and the steps to take in getting there.
God’s Word says in Proverbs 29: 18 Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, but happy is he who keeps the law. *Restrained people have a fine-tuned focus toward a common goal or vision. Unrestrained people are wandering aimlessly around.
How does a vision benefit a person? It restrains or connects them to God’s plan for their life.
How does a vision benefit a church? It restrains or connects a church to God’s purpose, which we know is the Great Commission.
What vision have we been given as born-again followers of Jesus Christ?
Matthew 28: 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. 18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Heed the words of Jesus and pursue God as never before and He will give you the vision for your life. We can never become stagnant.
