Jesus, Our Faithful Savior

As we approach the final lap for Jesus in His journey to the cross, we realize just how faithful He is to follow through. Jesus came into the world to seek and save that which was lost, and the realization and the weight of

The effort by Jesus, who was fully God and fully man, is staggering. Staggering, but followed through by Jesus, our faithful Savior. The writer of Hebrews speaks to this point in Hebrews 10:1. The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared. But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year. For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer.6 You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin. 7 Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God, as is written about me in the Scriptures.

Jesus "followed through" and went to the cross as an innocent man, and His death freed all who come to Him from the penalty of our sin, because Jesus took that sin on the cross and His shed blood paid the debt....that I owed. The Psalmist echoes the need for a perfect, eternal sacrifice, and the following verses help us realize we had to have this perfect sacrifice that paid my debt for eternity. I am made whole, complete before God because of the faithfulness of Jesus to follow through and DIE. Psalm 40:You take no delight in sacrifices or offerings. Now that you have made me listen, I finally understand—you don’t require burnt offerings or sin offerings. Then I said, “Look, I have come. As is written about me in the Scriptures: I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.”

I have heard from time to time "progressive" Christians who don't realize what they are saying mock the words "saved." I cringe at the thought of what Jesus did, and how antiseptic some want to make His sacrifice. To some, Jesus isn't "trending" enough for us to keep the words of what truly happened. I AM SAVED!!! Ephesians 2: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Jesus, our faithful Savior, has saved us from eternity in hell to eternity in paradise with Him, and praise His holy name for His faithfulness. God, our Father, reaches out to a lost and dying world by sacrificing His Son, Jesus. We have hope in the name of Jesus, and His faithfulness offers this salvation to all who will believe. We don't work our way to heaven. We don't lie our way into heaven. We don't buy our way into heaven. It is only because of God's grace that we have the way to eternal life with God, and it is possible because of the sacrifice of our faithful Savior, Jesus. Oh praise His name!!!

Just a parting prayer by Paul to the church in Thessalonica. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. 24 God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.

JESUS IS COMING!!!

The Pilgrimage Continues,

David Warren
