Jesus Is My Everything

David's heart and strength was seen in every Psalm he wrote and Psalm 18 is a great example of how much David trusted and loved God. Our love for God, on the other hand, is also a strength for us and we can rely on God to come through to protect, shield, and provide when we need it the most. Praise God!
Psalm 18: 1 I love you, Lord; you are my strength. 2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety; 3 I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies. This Psalm is also seen in 2 Samuel 22, where David sang this song to the Lord on the day the Lord saved him from his enemies and from Saul, who was trying to kill him. David was singing from a heart of thanks and gratitude and God, who annointed David, came through at just the right time, no matter the odds against David.
God has come through for us by sending Jesus to pay for our sins and allow a clear relationship with our heavenly Father. If I were a Christian in today's world, I would make my requests to God who listening, and watching, and protecting us all along the way. We live in perilous times, but we have an all powerful God who controls it all from on high. Jesus tells us to keep asking, seeking, and knocking, and God will hear, be our rock, and fortress, and our Savior.
When we begin to bring "everything" to God in prayer, He becomes our everything and that has always been His plan for His children. Why not come to Him for every need and every problem? He is the one who supplies and protects and we call out with the same hope David had when the odds were stacked against him. It would be good begin our prayer with God just like David did in Psalm 18, where his first words were I love you, Lord. God sees your heart just like He saw David's, so when David said the words I love you, Lord God could see David meant it. With this open and clear relationship God has established let God see your heart and that heart loves Him.
David told God He was his everything and God saw he meant it and responded with the Godly power necessary. For us it is all about Jesus and He is a very present God in the situations in our lives. He sees our fears, our needs, and our failings, and He remains our everything. We don't live our lives from old mercies that are from another time when God moved more powerfully. His mercies are new "every" day and He is active working things out for us. Make Him your everything and you will trust Him for everything. Jesus is my everything!!!
