Glory Evidence

John 2:1The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration. The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.” But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions. When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. 10 “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” 11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him. 12 After the wedding he went to Capernaum for a few days with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples.

Do you believe in Jesus's miracles? Whether you believe they are true or not doesn't matter because they exist. You may say, "You mean past tense, don't you?" I mean present tense. Just because those miracles were done years ago doesn't mean God's power is any less powerful today. In fact, His miracle-working power is just as real today because God's Word says He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! The writer of Hebrews gives a clear warning to not underestimate the power and presence of Jesus eternally. Hebrews 13: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them. I fear we have become distracted and fallen away from this vital truth that God is still working and His power is still evident. Some new ideas have come to the forefront from certain denominations saying that power is no longer evident and working. If you are attracted by something, make sure that the attraction is that Jesus is still being glorified and working. Don't be attracted by any new ideas that minimize the present working power of Jesus because those new ideas don't match up with scripture, so they are wrong!!

It was an incredible beginning to the glorification of the person Jesus to do the miracle at Cana. Mary told Jesus of the need for more wine, so He began his time of glorification with a heart to help. That is just the way Jesus is, and we need to realize that He sees our needs and our wants, and He responds. Just don't let a weak faith minimize the awesome power of the Son of God because that power is still available today, no matter what we think. Jesus circumvented the process needed to make wine, like planting a seed, nurturing and watering the plants, picking the grapes at just the right time, and then crushing the grapes and aging the wine. Jesus made a "new" wine, which is the best wine. Premium. Jesus is the Creator of the crop, and since He is the Creator, He can go around the process that winemakers need to do and just make some great wine......out of water!

Once again, do you believe in miracles? If you will get into the Word of God and pursue the truths in the text you will be encouraged by the Holy Spirit to begin to have a better faith than just the common faith you now have. A. W. Tozer writes “Any faith that must be supported by the evidence of the senses is not real faith.” Look beyond your human reasoning and let the Word of God shape your faith beyond human reasoning to a whole realm of thinking. There, you find Jesus. He is waiting to do great things that will glorify Him so that more and more will follow Him. Look at verse 12 of the above scripture and see what the end result was of this miracle in Cana. 11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

When you see God do a great thing, please glorify Jesus by thinking and saying, "God did it!" King David, in His attempt to glorify God, spoke these words in 2 Samuel 7:18. Then King David went in and sat before the Lord, and he said: “Who am I, O Lord God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far? 19 And yet this was a small thing in Your sight, O Lord God; and You have also spoken of Your servant’s house for a great while to come. Is this the manner of man, O Lord God? 20 Now what more can David say to You? For You, Lord God, know Your servant. 21 For Your word’s sake, and according to Your own heart, You have done all these great things, to make Your servant know them. 22 Therefore You are great, O Lord God. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

When God blesses you, glorify His Name and lift Him up! Don't be a skeptic! Skeptic (def) A person inclined to question or doubt accepted opinions. I know people who deny giving God glory when He does a miracle by calling it chance or destiny. We have an ever-present God who responds to the children He loves. Why else would Jesus say these wonderful words of truth in Matthew 7: 7: “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. The problem is not with God coming through when we ask, but it is our lack of asking and faith when asking. Ask God to help your faith and begin to live this life of faith He has called His children to live. Don't settle for water when He wants to provide the best wine. Then Glorify God with a truly thankful heart, by saying GOD DID IT!! Cause He did....
