Fatigue

Fatigue. (def) - extreme tiredness, weariness, or a lack of energy that does not go away with rest. God is our strength, and a very present help as written in the book of Psalms 46:God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Since getting my prostate diagnosis, I have been blessed with the strength I need to go on while taking cancer meds that are helping in a big way, but the fatigue factor is huge, and if not for God's strength, I would be in trouble. Praise God, He shows up to strengthen us when we need Him the most. In the book of 1 Samuel 30, it tells of David and his men being very fatigued, and God supplied strength for David. 1 Samuel 30: 1Three days later, when David and his men arrived home at their town of Ziklag, they found that the Amalekites had made a raid into the Negev and Ziklag; they had crushed Ziklag and burned it to the ground.² They had carried off the women and children and everyone else but without killing anyone. ³ When David and his men saw the ruins and realized what had happened to their families, ⁴ they wept until they could weep no more. ⁵ David’s two wives, Ahinoam from Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal from Carmel, were among those captured. ⁶ David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God.

God gave King David the strength to make life-saving decisions and fight the fight when he was severely fatigued, so King David continued on in the strength of the Lord. I have also felt this surge of strength that only God's spiritual electrolytes can give me. It also helps to get some gatorade propel in this body from time to time. The Prophet Elijah faced intense stress and had to flee for his life at one point, and he collapsed from exhaustion. God provided him with sleep and food to restore his physical strength. 1 Kings 19: 1When Ahab got home, he told Jezebel everything Elijah had done, including the way he had killed all the prophets of Baal. ² So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.”

³ Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there.⁴ Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.” ⁵ Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. But as he was sleeping, an angel touched him and told him, “Get up and eat!” ⁶ He looked around, and there beside his head was some bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water! So he ate and drank and lay down again. ⁷ Then the angel of the Lord came again and touched him and said, “Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you.” ⁸ So he got up and ate and drank, and the food gave him enough strength to travel forty days and forty nights to Mount Sinai, the mountain of God. ⁹ There he came to a cave, where he spent the night.

Feeling tired and fatigued? Then pray to the Lord and He will strengthen you physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. No one else can do that, so go to the source of our strength, and His name is Jesus. By the way, Jesus got tired and in John 4: 6 the scriptures say ⁴ He had to go through Samaria on the way. ⁵ Eventually he came to the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. ⁶ Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime.

Remember, Jesus was God and man, and the man side got tired, as we get tired, so entrust your fatigue problem to the one who knows fatigue, and He will give you strength. By the way, my cancer meds are working great, and a good result has been realized this past week as my psa is almost 000. Praise God the healer.
