Fake

I saw a female sportscaster on tv awhile back, and noticed she had hair down to her shoulders. The next time she was on tv her hair was long, long, longer, all the way down her back. I thought, "How did that happen?" Andra explained to me that there are additives of hair they can blend in with their 'real' hair and make it look either thicker or longer. I said, "But that's fake!" Au Naturale means to be your natural self in every area, and sometimes we are intimidated into thinking 'just us' is not good enough. Well, it doesn't matter what the enemy tries to tell you. Scripture says we are 'fearfully and wonderfully made' and the maker is God. We should present this very human shell in as good a shape as possible, but don't be a fake!

Many times, there are those who use fake words to illustrate a very pure truth, but there are a lot of them in the explanation to keep it 'believable.' Here is what the Apostle John said about fakeness in 1 John 4: 1 Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. ² This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God. ³ But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.

What these men or women do is present options, fake options, to itching ears. Scripture says this is still another sign of the return of Jesus.

John also says we have already won a victory over those 'fakes' because the Spirit who lives in us is greater than the spirit who lives in them. 1 John 4: ⁴ But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. ⁵ Those people belong to this world, so they speak from the world’s viewpoint, and the world listens to them. ⁶ But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.

Test everything by the purest testing process possible to us, and that is the Word of God. Our reliance on the Holy Spirit will keep our eyes clean from letting a lost and dying world from pollulting the pure message of Jesus. We live in truth, no fake, and both are evident when you study God's Word!!
