Don't Muddy the Water

Isaiah 58:11 The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. In a world with every distraction possible, I believe God wants us to be focused on the important things in life. If you are around me very much you will see I am very focused and very task oriented. If I set my mind to do something, I am going to get it done to completion. I can get a little "over the top" on this and have to watch myself and not let my focus compromise other areas of my life. I am also the kind of person who when you say you are going to do something, you do it! At times that can turn into a prideful way of living life and God will bring me back to reality very quickly to keep my heart and attitude lined up with His.

When guiding us our heavenly Father has much wisdom and insight He has given us in His Word to stay focused on our walk as believers. To keep our vision clear and clean is a must for discerning God's Will for our lives and this blog I write has been established with the desire to learn from God's Word and live my life seeking Him. Jesus said in Matthew 6: 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. I must live my life of faith following God's directions and not mine. Even though distractions may come, I must keep my eyes on Jesus the Author and "Finisher" of my faith. To finish the task at hand will most definitely only be done by keeping my eyes on Jesus and the writer of Hebrews said it this way in Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.

What can muddy the waters? When we look at the world and try to satisfy the world more than God. A consecrated life will be a life that is lived following the will of the Father in every area. It may seem very confining, but in reality, it is very freeing as I learn more about the mysteries of God and see life in a very different, focused way. God is so good.

Don't let the distractions of the world compromise the deep way that God calls out to His creation, you. Focus on Jesus and His will and life will take a step up and you will find a focus that keeps the water of your life very clear and pure. 1 Peter 1:3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation,4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.5 And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. NUFF SAID!!
