Are You Gaslighting Someone?

The word "gaslight" is being used a lot as a negative or evil word when describing a person or situation. Gaslight (def) - manipulate (someone) using psychological methods into questioning their own sanity, memory, or powers of reasoning. The keyword is "manipulation" because any kind of manipulation has a dose of evil in it, and we need to stay away from it. This manipulation is where the passive-aggressive lifestyle finds its roots.
Smile at someone as you face them while stabbing them in the back. This sounds a lot like satan and not a thing like Jesus. In other words, it is very worldly and evil.

Some people want to get their way so much that they will do all kinds of mind games to get their goal, which is control. We have a bit of a quandary in our world right now, as the rules of law are being enforced, where laws had been ignored for so long. This doesn't sit well with those who would gaslight our leaders at every turn in the name of "getting what they want." So manipulation has become the heart of those who want to ignore the laws of reason and hurt others at all costs. Now that is gaslighting. If our leaders give in to this kind of evil intention, we are in for a bad ride. This ride will include more manipulation to the point of murder, stealing, and debauchery. This is the result of not following the Word of God and following the word of the world. Our book of life is the Bible and our spiritual lives depend on following His Word. Paul wrote these words to the church in Rome in Romans
12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
There is a "cause and effect" in living life according to the Word of God, and they are listed above. Cause- don't copy the behavior and customs of this world. Effect - If you follow the world, you won't learn God's will for your life. You can only follow the above scripture if you really want God's way in the situation, and you won't be able to manipulate His truth to fit your feelings about life. No amount of using others' shortcomings as excuses will hold God from intervening in this situation.
I will close with the words given to Timothy by Paul about how to handle this gaslighting attitude and this Jezebel spirit who is running rampant in our world today. We must distance ourselves from this ungodly attitude and be transformed by a renewed mind.
1 Timothy 3: 1You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! 6 They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires. 7 (Such women are forever following new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth.) 8 These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith. 9 But they won’t get away with this for long. Some day, everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as with Jannes and Jambres.
I believe Paul pretty much said it all in his letter to Timothy. I hope you never submit to the worldly way of treating others by "gaslighting" them for your own gain. NOT GOOD.
