An Honored Vessel

Updated: Jun 15, 2022

To be a vessel used by God is such an amazing blessing. We go from a purposeless life without Christ to a life of purpose and meaning with Christ. If you haven't accepted Christ then you need to come to Him for forgiveness and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and YOU WILL BE SAVED!!

That is exactly what Paul wrote in the letter to the Romans in Romans 10:9-10 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth, he confesses, resulting in salvation.

After you are born again, then God has some great plans for your life and the scriptures below give you insight into the truths of God about living for Him. We are no longer vessels of wood, hay, and earthenware. We become vessels of gold and silver, and vessels with eternity on our minds. Paul wrote to Timothy in the scriptures below about thinking in a whole new way. An eternal mindset that sets aside the limited thinking that goes along with this world.

2 Timothy 2:21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be an implement for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

Pure in Speech – Ephesians 4: 29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

Pure in Lifestyle – Micah 6:8 The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Pure in attitude – Philippians 4: 8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

Pure in ServingPhilippians 2: 14 Do everything without complaining and arguing, 15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.

Our service is all for Him. Philippian 2: 13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to desire and to work for His good pleasure.

Mark Twain said - It is better to deserve honors and not have them than to have them and not deserve them.
