In your walk with God there will be some things that God will reveal to you and not reveal to others. In His revealing it to you is not to say you are better than others He doesn’t reveal it to, but it is at this point in your walk that He has prepared you to hear Him at a different level. In our “everybody gets a trophy for participating” society the thought of someone getting something that is not available to just anyone is unheard of and thought to be unfair. But in reality when God does give you a word through a dream or a vision He is also putting the responsibility for handling that Word correctly on your shoulders. That burden is not too heavy for us but it is a burden of conscious to do the right thing with what God has shown you.
An example would be for the condition of many churches in our present day and the lack of fervency for the Lord’s work is sparking an insatiable desire in some Godly men and women I know to get it “fixed.” NOW!! God has burned this desire so deep in their hearts that they cannot stand to be around the “church games” anymore. And to that I say “praise the lord!” It is through the wisdom and conviction on high that will make these individuals stand strong through these tough times and even spur a movement that begins to reclaim what is the Lord’s in the church and in our world. Look at the scriptures in 1 Corinthians 2: And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, 4 and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. And Paul goes on further in verses 10-13. 0 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, 13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.
Paul knew his power was from a changed life when he began his ministry and that was what was driving him to burn so brightly. But in verse 10 Paul shares that the things they were speaking and the ministry they were doing was much more in tune with God. So much so that they were able to understand and perceive the thoughts of God because of the Spirit of God giving those thoughts to them. Paul and his ministry partners were beginning to realize a higher way of thinking that was Spirit-enabled and they were seeing things from a God perspective. They were no longer looking at things from the vantage point of a natural man, but from the vantage point of those who had a deeper understanding of God’s purposes and God’s ways. They were making all decisions in their lives based on a spiritual perspective that God gave to them. Keep in mind, not all received this spiritual level, but those who were seeking God at a deeper level. And God did not disappoint!!!
Oh that we would all seek God in such a way as to begin to make all of our decisions led by the Spirit. Think of the wasted time we spend trying to see the logical or worldly way to do something. That wasted time really begins to pile up and then it shuts down our faith system because it is now in the way of our thinking of things as God thinks about things. We could be much more streamlined in our thinking if we were led by our faith in Christ and see things as He sees them. Years ago there was a weak attempt to market doing this very thing with the invention of the WWJD (what would Jesus do) saying. The only problem with that was there were many who were not believers trying to live like Jesus without having Jesus to show them. Verse 14 14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
Truth is we can know the mind of Christ, but it is found on a much deeper level. When you get to that level you begin to see the world, your life, and everything around you much differently. You see it with “Jesus eyes.” So, do you see something others might not see? YES!! But the seeing is only for moving about doing much more focused, faith work that has been revealed to you for a purpose. God has shown me many things that others will only scoff at and He burns it deep into my consciousness. It doesn’t make me better than others, but it does mean God wants me to follow His mandate as given to me and that mandate has a conviction attached to it that I cannot shake….And I don’t want to shake it. I want to follow it!!!
The challenge is this. Is God revealing a plan that He is specifically involving you in and calling you to step out in faith? Then step out and go!! But, keep in mind Jesus Christ the crucified who has given you the freedom to pursue that plan. And keep in mind the direction needed from the Holy Spirit. And then verse 16 will give you everything you need to know. verse 16 16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ. Isaiah 64:4 For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, Nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him.
The question is “Are you on go or on pause?”
The Pilgrimage continues….
