When the Lights Turn On

Philippians 2:14 Do everything without complaining and arguing, 15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. 16 Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. 17 But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God,[e] just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy. 18 Yes, you should rejoice, and I will share your joy. In Ozarkian terms, "Get out there and get with it!" There may be a time to sit back and take it easy and let the world run over you, even though I doubt it, but now is not the time. It is time to get into motion and let the Holy Spirit guide you to a new way of thinking and living. As the scripture says above, live clean, innocent lives as children of God and shine bright with the light of Christ shining through you.

What is possible living that kind of life? Jesus said it this way in John 14: 12 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. 13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. 14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it! What is a believer capable of when the lights are turned on? Anything and everything! It is so important to ask God to give you the power to live this kind of life and have a heart that is ready to respond when God calls and God equips.

All believers are capable and ready to live this kind of life or Jesus would have just told of a certain group of people who could live this life. This life of victory is for all. ALL MEANS ALL. You are part of all. Let your light shine for Jesus, and be in motion as you live this powerful life of victory. Here is how Jesus qualified this life of victory. Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

We have that light in us, so let it shine!! We let it shine by serving the Lord in our daily life and sharing the gospel with all who will listen. We live that light by challenging other believers to join hands with us in this fight and develop a strong group of like-minded people to bond together to fight the good fight. Paul wrote to Timothy, and here is part of the message he sent to his "son" in the faith. 1 Timothy 6: 12 Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. When I surrendered to full-time ministry, I made my confession in front of other believers at that time, and it confirmed the intent of my life call to "stay with it," and so far, so good. Every day is an adventure, and most of the time, others do not understand why I keep persevering and moving with an intensity in my life. God does, and He won't let me drift, so I keep on learning from Him in His Word, and the Holy Spirit keeps on keeping me focused one moment at a time. Actually, it is very exhilarating to live this kind of live, even when others don't understand. It is what it is! And to that I say, IYKYK.

I just had my lights turned on and I do not want the darkness in my life anymore, so lets keep moving forward together. You and me!! We are all connected at the heart, so keep the connection strong and know that you have a fellow sojourner in me, and I believe in the God who saved you and called you, and He is doing a new thing. Just believe it!! He is doing that new thing just like He told Isaiah in Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I am going to do something new, Now it will spring up; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. He is doing a new thing, and He is turning lights on everywhere, so get with it or get some sunglasses and watch it from the sidelines. Your choice!!
