When God Shows Us Who We Are Part 2

What is God showing us about our lives? Where are we slipping, and what will be the outcome? Years ago, a classmate of mine knew I had surrendered to the ministry, and he came by and visited me in my office. I was curious when I saw Him almost cover His face when He came into my office and meekly sat down across from me. I asked him what was wrong, and he proceeded to tell me of a very unBiblical lifestyle he had been living. He said he was ashamed to face me because I was a "man of God." I told Him the shame he had needed to be taken to a higher power, and that repentance was the most needed attitude to get right with God again. I told him of 1 John 1:9 and listened as he poured his repentant heart out to a loving God, and God apparently healed his heart. I was humbled that he was so transparent with me being "right there", and God reminded me that I was also living a life of freedom because of the grace He had given me. It was at that point that I realized "except for Jesus, so go I." Carnality is a monster we all face, but here is how we face that monster. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be alert with all perseverance and every request for all the saints.
I am still learning to love like God, but I am not there yet. I hope He continues to show me who I am.
