What's Going On?

Would you be ready to respond to God moving in your midst? Would you be spiritually aware and ready to join in, or would you doubt and fight it? When the shepherds were visited by a great company of heavenly hosts, they could not miss that God Almighty was up to something. The shepherds got the heavenly announcement, and they decided to follow the instructions given to them by the angels. No hesitation, just a total attitude to follow the instructions and go into Bethlehem, not knowing if what the angels said was true or not, but the heavenly host surely made it seem possible. Luke 2:13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
Now that is what I call a "birth announcement" with a show to come, and the shepherds weren't going to miss it. They went knowing that something was going on, and it was BIG. These many years later, and we still celebrate the birth of Jesus, because it is still something very BIG and we must never lose the celebration as the angels did in full view of the shepherds. What kind of celebration is happening in your heart right now? Is it a celebration that prompts you to "move" as the shepherds moved to where the baby was born, or do you ignore the power and majesty of the birth of the Son of God, and just go "meh?"
That birth should be fresh in our thinking, and it should affect us and stir us to action as we celebrate the birth of the one who has saved us from our sin and given us a home in paradise!! If someone notices you celebrating, they may say, "What's going on?" and you can answer, "Jesus is born!"
