Time to Fly!

Walk away from that Chronic sin that is constantly invading your walk with God. In the Lord's righteousness, we realize a new way of thinking and living. Paul wrote in Romans 6 these words 15 Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!16 Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.17 Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you.18 Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living.
Living in the freedom God's grace supplies for us is a life that is intent on learning from God through His Word. But let that Word change us at our core and cause us to not forget who we are in Jesus, and we can then walk away from the chronic sin that has ruled our life and live in the newness of God's grace. It is one thing to read God's Word and learn from it and another thing to realize it permeates us at our core and we begin to "live" that word and not just read it. James 1:22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
To distance ourselves from that chronic sin we must live what God's Word teaches us. Bible reading is good, but it is best to see that Biblical knowledge stirs us at our core to live as the Word says to live. God's love becomes our love. God's heart is seen in our hearts. God's forgiveness becomes our forgiveness. God's direction becomes our direction, and so forth. Here is how the writer of Hebrews puts it in Hebrews 12:Therefore since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.
All of this doesn't mean we have anything to prove. In reality, the proof is in our relationship with Jesus and the growth that comes from that intimate relationship. We have taken on His righteousness and His way of looking at things and the sin that so easily entangles us is no longer in charge because Jesus has that place in our hearts. If there is something that is weighing you down it is time to shed that weight and let the freedom of God's grace take over and let God break the chains.
As it says in the above Hebrew scripture we need to strip off the weight that slows us down, especially the sin that trips us up, and then RUN. If God is asking us to run then we need to run no matter what is trying to hold us back. Time is wasting and it is time to run and run hard and fast!! Don't wait on others to run with you. Run your own race and run it well! You will always have people trying to hold you back in life and it is because they don't have the fire in their souls like you. Please take note: It doesn't mean you are conceited when you realize God's plan for your life and you are confident in it. It just means that you found your purpose in God's will and you have surrendered totally to Jesus. And by the way, that is a great thing!! When you run with Jesus you are moving from mediocrity to greatness per the blood of Jesus.
As Peter Pan said "Time to soar. Time to fly!! TIME is now!
