The Hard Part

What will God do with a stubborn Christian? Probably stretch them into a new reality or way of thinking. It is very hard to break old habits that have become a way of life, and the "new creation" part of our conversion experience at times is hindered because of a stubborn denial of our will to Godly change. Emphasize....GODLY change. This kind of change is not our humanistic slant on the Word of God, but the actual "truth" of the Word of God that is unfiltered and direct. We then talk ourselves into a choice as to whether to follow the Bible or follow what I "think." The hardest part of this whole process is surrendering totally to the truth and repenting of the stubbornness. The stubborn person might say, "But that means I will have to admit I am wrong about something?"

This is where the deeper point of following Jesus totally takes a new form, and that form is the following: Am I willing to surrender to God's truth? Am I willing to bend my will to His will? Am I willing to accept change in my life? Will I put my opinions on the back burner and accept God's truth no matter what? If we are so mired in our own impression of truth and that truth conflicts with God's truth, then WE are the ones needing to change. But will we?

Ask and God will respond. Seek and He wil show. Knock and the door of truth will be seen. But are we too stubborn to accept the truth? That is the Hard Part. Romans 2:Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
