Clifford:The Big Red Dog

There is a new movie out in theatres entitled Clifford:The Big Red Dog and the premise of this movie is fantastic and parallels with our Christian walk. In the movie this family gets a red puppy and the puppy will grow larger the more he is loved. There is so much love given to the puppy by the little girl in the family that it causes the dog to get huge!! Thus The Big Red Dog!! What a great way to do things. More love, more size. The Christian walk is based on much the same thought. The more love we give to Jesus, the larger our faith grows and the more we get to know Him, the stronger our faith gets.

1 Timothy 4:15 Cultivate these things. Immerse yourself in them. The people will all see you mature right before their eyes! Keep a firm grasp on both your character and your teaching. Don’t be diverted. Just keep at it. Both you and those who hear you will experience salvation. To immerse ourselves in the Word of God is to immerse ourselves in Jesus. This very thing makes our faith come alive and that faith is what others are drawn to and want. All of this attack on believers is designed to divert us away from our faith and minimize the effect God has through our lives. We get caught up in the little things and miss the whole point of living the born-again life of victory. The diversion is working better than it should and our big dog faith is more like a puppy faith. 1 Peter 2:2 says Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment. When we cry out for this nourishment, guess what? We get it!!

So nourish your faith by loving Jesus more and more. Fall in love with Him again and experience the true joy of your salvation. The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Today is the day to fall more in love with Jesus and he will grow in your life and become The Big Loving Lord and you will once again experience your salvation like it just happened today.
