My Limits, God's Limits

ree

Ephesians 3:20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. God's power is limitless, and His power is also available to those who call Him Savior and Lord. Paul, in writing to the church in Ephesus, is revealing to them just how much God can do in their lives. Remember, these people had been worshipping idols up to the point that Paul shared the gospel message to them. Paul was writing to let them know that God's power is infinitely more reliable than any idols, and he also brought home the message of a very personal God, or Abba Father.

You may wonder what power has been given to us? In 2 Peter 1: 3-4, Peter shares what we truly need to know to live our lives in the power God gives us. 2 Peter 1: By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

We live in a kingdom upside down, and we have placed ourselves at the bottom with a fake humility that reeks of humanism, when God's power for living has been given to us as a blessing so we can live this victorious life. We have little to offer, except our faith in God doing and being who He says He is in our lives. My personal power and knowledge, and strength are severely limited, but God's power, wisdom, and grace are limitless, and He offers it to us when we are born again, but too many are not accepting all of who God is and what He wants to do with that power. Who wins when we deny God's power? Our enemy, the devil, wins, and the world then controls our lives, and this should not be happening in any form or fashion.

How long will we listen to a humanistic form of the faith and live powerless lives? As you read this today, I hope you will capture what God's Word is saying to you and step out of the boat and trust God. You will then have a spiritual understanding that God wants to do so much more in your life than you thought possible. When you do step out of the boat don't make the same mistake as Peter when he looked at the waves and then doubted. Just walk to Jesus and He will not only calm the storms in your life, but enable you to win victory after victory in your faith walk. My personal power is limited to a materialistic way of looking at life, but God's limits have no limit, and He is my ultimate strength for living this thing we call LIFE!! 1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. 12 Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.

The Pilgrimage Continues,

David Warren
