Mo Mo Momentum

Momentum (def) - the impetus and driving force gained by the development of a process or course of events. Faith walk, we will continue to reach out to new people to come and join with us in this great adventure called The way.

We have gone through a few stages to get to the point we are at now.  Stage One – The formation of our faith, or being born again. Stage. Two – The commitment to spiritual growth.  Stage Three – The Development of our walk, through study in God's Word. Stage Four – The One Heart attitude in serving through the church.  Stage Five – The victories as God blesses the commitment. Stage Six – Bringing along others into the mission and helping them develop their faith walk.. We are now working on Stage Seven, and this is where we use the momentum and result of hard work and unity to continue to develop our faith walk and our fellowship.  Our impetus is Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is the driving force. The gain is how awesome God is using your commitment to His Will and His Way.  The process continues, and we look to scale even higher heights in fellowship and in growth.

Luke 9: 57 As they were walking along, someone said to Jesus, “I will follow you wherever you go.”58 But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.” 59 He said to another person, “Come, follow me.” The man agreed, but he said, “Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.”60  But Jesus told him, “Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead! Your duty is to go and preach about the Kingdom of God.” 61 Another said, “Yes, Lord, I will follow you, but first let me say good-bye to my family.” 62 But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”

This "don't look back mentality " describes a fresh, ongoing faith walk that is growing more and more each day. Looking back is only a nod to what God has done before, and using information from God, and then asking Him to move again and again. Never get enamored by what happened in the past, but praise God for today and plan for Him to move even stronger in the days ahead. Use the momentum to put yourself into a place where you are not constantly going up the hill, but planning what to do as things become easier and God's presence is realized more and more. DO NOT BECOME STATIC!! Too many church fellowships are static, and that is a dangerous place to be, because the momentum has not been seized upon and used to go to the next level. Static (def) - lacking in movement, action, or change, especially in an undesirable or uninteresting way. Our growing relationship with Jesus gives us true purpose in life, and serving Him is the pinnacle of completeness.

There is a relationship that makes life complete. Without that relationship, there is a void, a vacuum in life. Many people, even those who are well-known, can attest to that void.

For example, H.G. Wells, a famous historian and philosopher, said at age 61: "I have no peace. All life is at the end of the tether." The poet Byron said, "My days are in yellow leaf, the flowers and fruits of life are gone, the worm and the canker, and the grief are mine alone." The literary genius Thoreau said, "Most men live lives of quiet desperation." Ralph Barton, one of the top cartoonists of the nations, left this note pinned to his pillow before taking his own life: "I have had few difficulties, many friends, great successes; I have gone from wife to wife, from house to house, visited great countries of the world, but I am fed up with inventing devices to fill up twenty-four hours of the day."

The life of a born-again believer is a life of freshness and renewal, no matter the age of the believer. How do we keep that freshness and keep on growing in our faith walk? Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. It is all about the Word of God and us living our lives by its words. The Word of God is not a book where we touch it and put it on a shelf and look at it. IT IS ALIVE AND WORKING!! Get in on the power of the Word and see what God will do when you live according to what it says!! Then you will begin to see the Mo Mo Momentum begin to build in your faith walk.

Are you ready for a great adventure? Get on the faith train and see what God will do, and you will be amazed.

David Warren
