Judge Dredd is Dead

Judge Dredd is a fictional character in a movie of the same name. This movie is a representation of a society that has gone so far that a judgment force of policemen are now used to fight those who break The Law. In one part of the movie Judge Dredd actually says "I am the law." Sometimes those who follow Jesus put themselves in a position to also say those words, I am the Law," God is the ONLY law and we must remember that or we too will be enticed into believing we are "little" gods and that is not a good place to be. Those who used The Law of Moses to control the people of the day were soon corrupted by their position in the ways they sentenced those they deemed guilty. They became the representation of the Law and changed it from case to case to fit their way of looking at the law. When Jesus came and met those religious leaders He quickly told them the following in Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus took the Law they had abused and corrupted and made it pure by who He was and upset the apple carts of all the religious leaders because their human interpretation of the law actually weakened it. Those religious leaders had positioned themselves in places that only God could occupy and when Jesus came on the scene as the Son of God, they rejected Him because He was perfect in every way and they could not understand Him, so they rejected Him. Those parts of the Law they set aside to fit their own interpretation would not work anymore because the perfect Law, Jesus was alive and Messiah was going to accomplish all God had commanded to perfect the Law. That Law was perfected in the death of Jesus on the cross and the shed blood broke every barrier the Law had kept God's children from God. God provided something called grace and the perfect Law of God was made complete by one dying for all so that we might be made right with God and this was something the Law could never do. SO JESUS FULFILLED THE LAW BY HIS BLOOD.

If there is anything of man in this process, then the process is flawed. When there is anything of Jesus in the process it is perfect and that which is flawed becomes perfect. God's grace is complete whether we understand it or not, so we must never put ourselves in a position of Judgment because Judge Dredd is Dead. Those who would judge others and by their actions say "I am the Law" are sadly mistaken and have no understanding of the grace of God and mock the sacrifice of the Son of God, who made that which was flawed very perfect, and complete. Romans 6:1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Trying to figure out heavenly things with human wisdom will always cause a problem because our reasoning is flawed and tainted. After all, it comes from human wisdom. We must rely totally on the Word of God and trust the Holy Spirit to move in our lives when we are born again. Seek the truth because the truth does set us free!! The pure truth will be found only in God's Word and we must be born again in the Spirit to accurately know the truth. Then the grace of God allows us to walk in that freedom and we are sanctified on a moment-by-moment basis. Religion will try to get in the middle of this process, but the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth will not let that happen. Thus Judge Dredd is Dead and God, the only true judge will intervene in every case with His grace so that we might continue to draw closer to Him and live in the freedom of His salvation. In this new life we soon learn that deep calls to deep and God is one deepening the relationship and it is all good because is all God and He is a God of mercy. Romans 6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
