Jesus, Our Only Hope

Romans 5:7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
When I think of who would be willing to die for me, it is a short list, or an empty list. To give up your life for someone else would surely mean that person needs to be extra special to you, as they will go on living, and your life will end. Jesus gave His life for me, a sinner, and He gave up His life on the cross for you and me, but.... He came back to life!! Praise God!1
I have one source of hope in my life, and His name is Jesus, and the value He put on my life is beyond my understanding, but I accept it wholeheartedly. Jesus is the light I need, and darkness no longer controls my life. John 1:4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. That light and that life are in all who are born-again believers, and that light cannot help but shine in this dark and evil world. Jesus is our hope, and Jesus is the hope of all mankind. Jesus is not just one hope; He is the only hope for us and for all who live on this earth.
Hope means hoping when things are hopeless, or it is no virtue at all...As long as matters are really hopeful, hope is mere flattery or platitude; it is only when everything is hopeless that hope begins to be a strength. G.K. Chesterton
